And there's that next time. I was absolutely overjoyed to turn that corner and finally see the Taco there. My feet felt like bloody stumps by that point in the day.

And we were STARVING. Devoured a large Xchs & pepperoni in ~5 min when we got back to town :D

The goats were hanging out near the tops of those cliffs on the left side of the photo.

Like idiots, we actually tried to climb a little ways up at far end of the lake, but quickly realized it was not a smart idea. Then trying to come down those loose rocks - now that was lots of fun

Heading back to the Taco. At that point, we had a long way to go. Started daydreaming about pizza right about here. :D

Tired, just got back from camping, now Keaker wants some parts, so I got to go out and do some dismantling of the parts truck. On the plus side, I get to play in my shop. So that's a win.

Here is the wire harness. For some reason I can't post pics in a private message.

Jen, I think that you'd benefit from using trekking poles as they (a pair) can lighten the load on your feet, knees, and hips by about 30%. Of course that is transferred to hands, elbows and shoulders. OK as they are being underutilized anyway.

That looks to be a nice place and thanks for sharing,

Hmmm, I like this idea! Hips, knees, and feet are always the first things to start hurting on these longer hikes. And the impact on those joints when coming down from a steep elevation is just brutal. Sounds like the poles would help this problem!

    Any particular kind you'd recommend?

    Guess what TW?

I washed the topper yesterday!

Guess what the plan is today?

Touch up paint!! For real!!

Taco and topper are shiny clean. Close up shots of topper's paint job coming later today after touch ups are done :) Temps are finally starting to head down a bit here, thank goodness. It's even going to be cloudy this weekend, something I NEVER thought I'd be happy about!! Can get more done outside/in the shed now. It's just been too freaking hot here lately to do much more than what's completely necessary outside! Was starting to feel like we lived in the desert.......

One thing I've noticed is it seems like the dirt/dust show up more on the topper's paint than the truck's paint. Not sure if this is just in my head or what, but it seems like it looks dusty (and therefore not really shiny) pretty fast. But when it's freshly cleaned it's shiny as all get out. Maybe because of the texture the topper paint has? Guess the dirt has something to cling to more easily with the texture......ah well, I am still totally thrilled with it. Looks great IMO, considering the low cost/ease of doing it, especially when compared to way more PITA methods/way more expensive methods.

Eric's all set to do rotors Saturday morning. He's got what he needs being held at OReilly, I'll probably pick it all up today, and it shouldn't cost much. Well, relative to what we NOW consider "much" when it comes to Taco repairs

I like the Leki models with the ski pole type grips. There might be other brands but I've never tried any of them. Time for some window shopping from - wine helps.

As a bonus, you'll gain some upper body strength; and be able to poke snakes in the eye.

Jen, try waxing the shell after it's clean, probably help it stay cleaner!
