Nice!! Why the replacement? Just time to do it because of wear and tear, or wanting something different, or both?

And really??!??!??!?! Doing a project like that and not drinking at the same time??????????????????????????????????????????????

I do NOT believe that for a second ;)

I had 1 beer after I finished up with the chain saw. Gonna make up for it at another time. Sitting the wife's, nephews kids for the evening.

Our old deck was shot. The idiots that built it before we bought the place, built it out of untreated 2 x 4s. It was not savable.

The Mrs helped load up all the scrap wood into the cinimon roller.

I put the little shit to work. The kid has never had anything but a video game to keep him entertained. He is a little, whiny bitch, but he seemed to enjoy running the work saver. He did tear the he'll out of the yard, but after seeing him grin, it seemed to be worth it.

Wow. I got to one appointment and look at all the excitement I miss!!! You guys are hilarious. :D

@koditten , great job getting the kid outside and putting him to work, major thumbs up from me  I need to do the same with my nephews if I can get them out for a visit - they are constantly indoors, glued to video games. Very sad. Eric learned half of the useful stuff he knows as a kid/teen, from starting fires to fishing to car repairs to building stuff, wilderness survival, etc. And lo and behold as an adult, you realize that a whole lot of that stuff that is actually pretty important, and at the very least, quite handy and convenient to know. Keep teaching him Koditten, he'll appreciate it someday even if he doesn't now!! : ) Make him build something or teach him how to change oil!! :D

Doc did an EKG and it was normal, yay!! She did labs, and should hear on those Monday or sooner. So assuming the labs are normal, then she'd chalk it up to a pulled muscle I think. But I asked her, "what if the pain keeps happening and the labs don't explain it?" and she said we'd do a stress test for my heart. Stress test is where they have you use a treadmill while they evaluate your heart, right? I'm guessing it must be expensive or a pain to set up, or else why wouldn't she just go ahead and do it, considering my dad's history?

In the meantime, I'm supposed to just keeping taking Aleve/muscle relaxers as needed if I have that pain, and keep exercising normally. I gotta say though, it's kinda making me nervous to exercise alone now - that was pretty scary at the park the other day, it freaking HURT! Might have to change up our routine and start going together when Eric gets home from work.

    Happy weekend everybody!!! :woot:

nope, stress test is hooked up to EKG while you "run" a treadmill until your ready to drop, maybe up and down a step stool till you legs go limp, basically push you to exhaustion and gasping for air to see how your heart handles it.

so its like a gym workout and takes like an hour so they have to schedule a time for doing it and they need someone to monitor you the whole time, they cant just have you run around the hallways like a crazy electrode lady lol.

Well, the little turd is gone. Kids like that remind me why I never had or wanted. Every conversation involved this movie called Twilight. Never seen it and now I'm pretty sure I won't ever. Was this film about vampires and werewolves? That was pretty much all he talked about. He did thank us for watching him while his mom worked late. That was very nice.

I know he just needs to be outside more, but holy shit this kid could stir up the mosquitos! He asked us if he could have a mt dew while sitting around the fire. The wife and I both responded in unison. "No!"

I think it's time for a big boy drink for me now.

HA!! I wondered if you guys had kids. I hear ya, being around obnoxious/annoying/bratty kids is definitely a reminder of "oh yeah, that's why I made the decision I did!!" :D It's tough too, cuz it's not very common to just decide not to have any. Especially for women. Don't have many female friends that made the same choice. So it's nice to know others that chose the same and are glad for it!! Did your wife have a tough time with that, when all her friends were popping out kids left and right in their 30's?

That is super cool that he thanked you for watching him though. Very impressed, that's some darn good manners for a youngin!

How was the big boy drink??? :D

OK TW, I have a horrible awful nasty secret to admit - I have been a smoker for 20 years. Ewww. Gross. I know. :(

    BUT.

The weird chest pain thing (that I am really starting to think is a pulled muscle) scared me so bad, thinking that I had finally done myself in with those nasty little evil sticks of nicotine, that I decided to quit. For reals this time. Tried quitting at least 3 or 4 other times. But this time is different. I really mean it and I am doing it. PERIOD. I just don't want to be someone that has that nasty habit anymore, and that's it. It's done.

But it is NOT easy. It's a damn powerful addiction. It feels like it crosses my mind every 5 minutes right now, and I have to remind myself of all the reasons it's NOT worth it every single time. So I'm spending a lot of time running through that list of reasons to quit, over and over and over this weekend. :D

    Wrinkles
    Yucky voice
Being sick with various horrible things
Dying earlier than you should of various horrible things
Worrying about being sick/dying of various horrible things
Difficulty exercising/doing things you love if lungs are impaired
A doctor drilling a hole in your neck
    Complete waste of $ - a lot of $
    Smells gross/offends others
Looks trashy, makes clothes smell gross
Butts, ashtrays, all of it - GROSS
Causing health problems for people I care about
    Makes the cars stink
    Waste of time/inconvenience
    Gross breath
    Nicotine stains teeth

I'm on day 3 now. :humble:

I hate admitting that I've had such a disgusting habit for so long, but I'm ready to admit it because I need support from everyone I can get it from right now to make quitting easier!!!
So tell me I'm doing a good job now please!!! :humble:And feel free to share reasons you think smoking is NASTY!!!!!!!! :D

Have a great weekend TW peeps!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

PS: Apologies to any smokers I may have offended. But I need to do whatever it takes to kick this habit and right now, that's constantly reminding myself of why I am doing it, and soliciting support everywhere I can find it!!! :D

I quit 38 years ago after a bout with cancer....once you really make up your mind to quit, it is fairly easy...I will admit that I lit other people cigs for a few years after quitting on occasion, but never inhaled again....I do occasionally fire up a doobie, but that is fairly harmless compared to all day smoking...good for you, stay the course, you will feel so much better for it....

I just fire up a nice cigar 2-3 times a week. Conditions need to be perfect...outside, end of a day that felt like I accomplished something, no one around that can be offended by the smell and never in a vehicle, and a nice, tall scotch.

If you make having a smoke a reward thing, it's no big deal. Finish a big project and have a smoke. Don't finish a cup of coffee or a meal then have a smoke. Make it something worthwhile.

By the way, we knew you smoked. Back when I asked to see vids of the cold start symptoms, you had a cigarette in your hand. We never said anything because a woman under stress can be a dangerous thing.
