It starts correctly now, thanks to the best dealer tech ever.
This corner is going to be a PITA:

Somehow we gotta remodel how those stones and how the fence are situated. That new big beefy post in the pic will also be the corner post for cedar fencing going back from it. So stones in the corner will come out. Actually, probably all the stones will come out (meaning those two low rows - NOT the tall ass wall of them along the side!!). Not totally sure yet.

Thinking of using some of those stones to make a threshold between the two gate posts, to sort of frame it out/make it look nice along the ground between them. We'd wedge the stones into the ground, so the gates would have a smooth, level surface to close together on, with minimal gaps underneath.

Still not sure about doing a wheel. Thinking it might be a good idea though. I do not want this thing to sag!!

Dang. Well, you might be building that while we are redoing the fence panels that adjoin where the new gate is going. We can compare notes on our projects!!

@koditten , I wanted to see pics of your driveway gates also. You mentioned that you built them to blend in. Curious to see what they look like!!! When you get a sec...

    Civic is being weird again.

DON'T ANYBODY SAY I TOLD YOU SO!!! YOU ALL KNOW HOW PISSED I WILL GET!!! :D Love ya TW peeps!! :D:D:D:D

We think it's the distributor, and we have a lifetime warranty on it. So Eric's going to replace that right now. Of course the one Oreilly gave me looks like it was installed and returned and reboxed about 40 times. So I'm sure it will work like a charm.

I normally don't play the lottery. But I have a Megabucks ticket and am :fingerscrossed: !!!!

Lemon drop, beer, and distributor changing time. Oh yeah, and new door handle for the Taco time also (thanks @koditten !!).

So much for continuing on the gate tonight  Ah well, perfection takes time, right? ;)

Hey Jen, about that Civic ;)

Btw I usually hate the newer Civics, but I just saw the 16 today in an article and that thing in lime green looks amazing. It's even turbocharged. Too bad the version I'd like is going to be 30k.

Besides, so far, no $ has been spent. The replacement distributor is free!!!!

I'm standing behind my Civic decision, damnit!!

    At the moment anyway :D

As much as we drink, I'm surprised that gate doesn't look like a Picasso.

Glad you got the door levers. Enjoy.

I do wonder why "Dolly's Dad" hasn't posted in a while. Is it because you post enough for both? I dunno? I'm canning tomatoes this last week or so, I drink more than I should watching the canner so it doesn't explode...and I have to work at 04:30 every day for the next week or so. I kind of like canning. I get something done and get to enjoy a drink or 2.

That gate isn't finished yet! ;)

Oh, and Dolly's Dad is still a TW fan, I think it's more like you said. I tend to do the blabbing for both of us in all walks of life!! Shocker, right?

you should sell the taco so you have more money to put into fixing the civic :crapstorm:

seriously thou you have already spent more then its worth so you are commited to having to continue to spend more to keep it running now, your frankenstein civic must LIVE! you don't really have any other choice and you know that now.

Ha!! Was hoping to get a comment outta you on this topic Keakar!!

Yeah, I'd say you'd better start to  after that Taco comment. You DO remember that you are advising that on a 1st Gen Taco forum, right?

TW & @koditten , new door handle is in and works great!!! I busted out into the Jeffersons theme song once we saw that it worked. "Well hey we moving on up!!!!!!! MOVING ON UP!!!"

Got to feeling fairly hillbilly reaching through the window to open the door.

And back to the Civ's distributor again!! At least the army neighbor is keeping Eric entertained while he works. Guess what the topic is? How much he thinks Prius' suck!! Haven't yet shared with him the opinions I received on TW about them

Let's see, already knew distributor was an issue, not a big deal, concrete on fence posts needs to cure, not a big deal.
I'm not sure on how much you've put back into Civic, but I'm sure it's less than $420, where did that number come from, if it's KBB they suck.

    No regrets!

It is a west coast car, so it's probably not rusted out like the cars in your neck of the woods!
When I lived in SoCal, a decent running car was worth a $1000 all day, and it didn't have to be pretty...
