Dude!!! This thing is SWEET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just showed it to Eric and he's ready to build it!!! This is awesome! :D Summer project :D

Bathroom's coming along, might share some recent pics soon to show progress. Got supplies to build vanity, planning to start that the next couple of weekends. Got most of the trim around the doorway done, need to get it painted now. Getting easier and easier now to visualize the final end result, and I like what I'm visualizing, so overall the project is going great!! :)

Our 12 year anniversary is this weekend!!! Keep changing my mind about whether to go to our favorite fancy restaurant downtown, or stay home to grill steaks and get a bottle of our fave whiskey from our dating days - Makers!! I hate worrying about drinking & driving, and having just one drink each with an awesome meal kinda sucks if we go out. But I don't remember the last time I got all gussied up and went out to a place like that, and that does sound kinda fun.

Stay in or go out? This is my big dilemma decision today, so everybody gimme your vote. :D

Ha!!! Just think, one year ago today, I was making some seriously way more crappy decisions than this!! Love that all that nonsense is behind us finally!! :D Learning little by little every day to worry less about how much longer the Taco will last and focus more on just relaxing and enjoying driving her!! :)

What's going on out there with all of you, TW peeps? Fill me in please!!! And Happy Friday TW buddies!

Go out,,grab a cab later for home. What we did sometimes.

Or we just stayed at the Paramount on SW Taylor street. Walk distance of eats and drinks and cool stuff. They have a awesome blue collar priced whiskey/moonshine bar and really nice restaurant.

Very very clean rooms and pretty swank.

Merry Christmas Eve's eve TW peeps!! How's life out there in TW????????

Anniversary weekend was awesome. Wound up staying in, grilled some delish steaks, nice wine, and Eric even surprised me with a dozen roses (for 12 years) and a mini version of our wedding cake! Fixed my sewing machine for me too. Yep, he's definitely a keeper, and fortunately it appears he feels the same. Lucky to have found such a great guy, nice to have anniversaries to remind us to celebrate your relationship with your sweetie. :)

Taco is running strong and doing everything we ask of her, just like a good Taco should :) We still comment just about every time we get in her how much we love that old girl. NEVER thought I'd say this, but me thinks she may retire to some type of lawn ornament status/permanent fixture when her final resting day comes. But in the meantime (and hopefully for a long time), she's my around town ride, and may haul our butts on an eastern Oregon trip this spring (if we can get our plans together!), and has done plenty of work these last few months hauling materials for the bathroom remodel, which is still in progress.........

Eric got the melamine pieces cut for the new vanity's sides/back/bottom - and I'm sure it was no easy feat!! Especially in a tiny shed. The most cost effective option was a 4 x 8 sheet of it, based on the sizes of pieces we needed. So it weighed a bazillion pounds or so. But he got it done and plans to gut the old sink/vanity over the 4 day holiday weekend and build the new one and put the new sink on it!! Super excited. Here's hoping we actually get 'er done and don't wind up turding out on food, movies, whiskey.......you get the idea.

What are you all up to for the holidays? What's on the menu at your houses? We're doing teriyaki marinated T Bones with sweet potatoes in a honey glaze, plus homemade biscuits and salad. And whiskey :D And there will be cinnamon rolls on Christmas morn. :D

Happy Holidays TW peeps! And don't forget to show your Taco some love during this holiday season! :D

Looks like things are going good Jen, congrats and Happy Holidays!.

Moms car popped a alternator yesterday and ran the battery dead getting home,,so I get to deal with that and find one before noon today before everything closes so that I can get it fixed, then run to PDX International at damn near midnight tonight and pick up my niece and her husband and baby, flying in from NV. So far, no new alternators available, only rebuilds at $299.50 per. Can you say price gouge?. 2nd Napa alternator for this rig. OEM lasted 10 years, first rebuild lasted 6 months,,this one lasted a year. Good ole Napa warranty,,eventually I'll find a good one that lasts longer than a year. All else fails and I'll have to swamp out the Tacoma and fold the jump seats down for them. I have alot of shit in my Tacoma,,don't want to have to dig that out.

A slightly busy greasy day,but we should make it thru.

    Hi there TW peeps!

Going to visit old family & friends in the Midwest! So excited. 3 whole weeks of fun and laughing with my old high school buddies and my family! Haven't been back there in years, so really looking forward to it. Nothing beats home style midwest cooking and laughing like the good ol' days.

Taco seems to be running fine (knock on wood) so that's good. Other stuff is not so good right now, but more on that to come........

Just wanted to say hi to everyone and wish you all a happy 2016!! Will check back in a week or so....would love to hear what's new and exciting in your lives! :)

It's raining here. Splish splash. I'm not motivated to work on my rig, in the driveway, when it keeps raining. No, that's not a complaint.

I fantasize about having a shop with a lift. TMI?

Hey all, heading back to Oregon from IL today. Had a nice visit with family & friends. Missing my Dolly baby and my Taco somethin' fierce though!!!

Might be moving to Illinois. Or Boston. Big stuff going on right now, lots of tough decisions ahead of me. Will check in to TW periodically to see what you all have been up to and hear your opinions about my options.

Whaddya think TW - Boston or Illinois?

come on down to nawlins baby!!! leave all that snow and ice behind you and head south for good food, strange talking people, and lots of partying all year long.

if nothing else you damn well need to come see and experience the mardi gras at least once in your life if at all possible. then see how you feel about it.

but if you do come, bring loose fitting clothes because you will gain about 12 lbs with all the good food everywhere you look

They salt the roads in both places so, from the perspective of your Taco, neither, thanks.

Boston,,Brrrr! Gear up.! Sell the V6 and get a tracked vehicle Jen. Horrible back yonder right now. 26" all over and still falling. 19 have passed due to that mess. Sad way to go. Stay bundled back there,,huddle in place if you must. Carry backups in the car.

Talked to my relatives in SC, they are house bound but stocked up on everything. Few winters back they went 5 weeks without power restored due to the white stuff and heavy ice. They learned there refresher lesson damn quick.

Update: 27.7" at JFK. Just popped up.

    Whoa!

This thread is still alive? Nice.

I don't know what the cost of living is in either places. Prolly similar to Oregon. I should be researching since the wife wants to live out there when retirement comes.

After seeing all those beautiful pics, I don't know how you could move back to the flat lands.

Regardless, you do need to do what is best for you.

    Carry on
