Nice!!! :D Happy Birthday to my fave 1st gen red Tacoma!! :woot:

It's funny - with all the various subjects we've covered on this thread that have all of NOTHING to do with Tacomas, shockingly, sometimes I lose sight of the reason we're all on here - our shared love of our Tacomas.

But then DP shares his Taco's Bday with us. And I get all choked up, cuz...........

I get this warm fuzzy feeling towards my most favorite 1st gen Tacoma buddies, who get "it" ("it" being my incredible love for my Taco) like NO ONE else in the world ever will.

And I'm reminded why I love you guys so much. :)

Sorry, might be that extra drink :proposetoast: and not enough pizza making me a bit happy/sappy right now

Looks awesome K!!! Very nice indeed - those shutters look great!!! Been wanting to put some on our house - the front of it actually looks quite similar to yours, so it's helpful to see how nice they look on yours! Might go for it - extra curb appeal is always nice.

How's your fleet of Toyotas doing? What's up with the old '98, still hanging around in the garage (what's left of it after we raided it, that is)?

That 98 is the wifes. My job is to keep it running as long as possible. She just loves it.

With just over 100,000 miles on it, I expect it to be around awhile.

I would have gladly taken oak over the blue/grey,,in a Sunfire red shell. It's a better match, easy to see. Wasn't available at that time where I bought from.

Sadly,,the grey has taken a heavy beating over the 228K.

There was 2 complete carpet and headliner match interior kits available about 6? years ago. Orig 1999's. About $680 per. Should have bought both. Didn't buy either. I know there are lots of carpet cutters out there,,and there kits are always the best of course. Would like to have had that orig stuff.

Will have to do something about that once we need new paint.

@koditten I sure wish you didnt live so far away from @lovemytacolots and I! I want to buy a trailer and im sure the both of us(i know i do) would like to take advantage of your extreme wealth of knowledge linked to vehicle maintenance and such! I think you and the ole lady need to pack it up and head out here! Best of all...no more fuckin rust youd have to deal with, ever!!! No more worrying of when your trucks will die from cancer!! Its a win win for all of us, lol!

P.S. I think you should move closer to me though...much better weather and the rat race is very much less than jens neck of the woods!! Hehe, sorry Jen!:boink:

I love the sound of that.

FYI, the wife and I will be travelling to Whitefish, Montana this summer. Want me to let you know if we make that trip?. I can drag one of the trailers with me. Just saying.:)

I usually get around 1400.00. A little less if they are preordered.

Pretty fair price. They look really good my man! A little trailer like that is so darn useful for all kinds of stuff! Only problem is when you have one it seems like everyone and their mother decide they need to borrow it from you....

I have one very similar to that but it has an axle that drops a few inches just after the wheel hub, so tje damn thing has like 4 inches of ground clearance. For me its kinda shitty cause i like to take it off the pavement to get firewood and such, so it drives me nuts. Also because of that the hitch sets very low so i gotta run a massive drop hitch to accomodate, so again with my ground clearance issue the darn thing drags hardcore sometimes when off road at all.

I quit loaning my open deck quad trailer out. It's over 7 ft so it has to be insured in Wa state and that is only covered if I pull it. Someone borrows it and they get wacked or wack someone and I am responsible. Local outfits started making there small trailers 6'8" to bypass that rule. No insurance or side marker lights needed,, just a registered plate, turn and brake lights and safety chains.

That's a good deal for $1400,, actually a bit light on price for a custom fabbed trailer. The junky import fold up trailers are around $600 here and don't have 1/2 the space. I would rent a Uhaul flatbed before buying or using one of those.

Was bored the other night. Decided to repair my Coleman cooler that I've had a looong time. I couldn't see tossing it because the latch broke.

Thus thing and I have some history and I just can't toss those memories.

Had a few decals losing around and decided to sticker the thing up. The game call decal was given to me by the owner of the company when I fixed his trailer (not one of mine).

Been pretty quiet in this thread, so I figured no one would mind if I camped out for a few post.

Don't hate me, I have a Tundra, but the Tacoma is my first love.

Installed a Soft Topper this weekend. Should make it pretty user friendly when I need to hook up the 5th wheel camper. This thing folds out of the way in 5 minutes. I don't have to worry about blowing a grape taking off a rigid topper anymore.

Did some Coleman restorations a few years back. Did several lanterns and stoves. Full teardowns and rebuilds, repaints, restickers, ect.. Found a 1936 Canadian Coleman single mantle lantern that I brought back from the crusher. The glass globe alone was a eye opener to get that right(3 shipping shattered tries at it). Have a Liberty Coleman single burner whatever-fuel stove. Those stoves, along with a quart of Kerosene, rode in on the "frigidares from the sky" food drops over bombed out Europe and starving China, ect.. Didn't take much to get that garage sale find going. They were stupid simple and double tough. Anyone, young or old could burn water with those.

Keep the cooler. Easy work there to jazz it back up if one wanted to.

    Decals here,,and maybe other parts.

I rounded up the potholder legs, pot plate, and other stuff. Made woods chili with it,,tasted great (as always).
