Update: removed the non-working infinity speaker and connected my o.e. speaker. It worked. When I installed the infinity's, they came with plug and play harnesses. I then ohmed between the toyota connector on the harness and where the spade connects to the speaker. No continuity. I removed the spade connectors from the speaker and found rust. On the speaker terminals and inside the spade connectors. I cleaned the terminals on the speaker than replaced the spade connectors on the harness. Also added dielectric grease. Now everything works. Very rarely have I ever seen rust build up in this area.

2017 Toyota Tacoma. Non JBL. Upgraded the tweeters to the Kickers and upgraded the front door speakers to Infinity’s about a week after I bought the truck. 40K ago.

The last few days the sound seemed to be louder from the drivers side and I just assumed my gear on the passenger floor was blocking the music.

Tonight I listened to it in the driveway when I got home and the front right 6x9 has no sound. Pulled the panel and checked the connection. It’s good.

Pulled the tweeter and checked the connection. It’s good. And it works.

Pulled the Kicker and installed the stock Toyota tweeter to see if that was the issue since the Tweeter feeds the door speaker. Still didn’t work.

Next step is to pull both door panels and swap the drivers 6x9 to the passenger side to see what happens but I thought I’d check to see if anyone has run into this issue.

    Let me know thanks.

You’d think that if the front right output from the head unit failed than the tweeter on the same line wouldn’t work?

P.S. Head unit is stock Toyota. Only speakers that were replaced are the front door 6x9’s and the front tweeters (3 years ago)

What model of infinity speakers did you get? and do you play them loud?

Some of the infinity speakers are 2-3 ohm, these combined with the tweeters would result in a ohm load well below what the headunit can handle at high volumes.

Don’t play them very loud. I think they are 4 ohm (need to check) bought from Crutchfield and have been fine for about 35,000 miles. Thanks though.
