That's what I was thinking about too as far as pushing out the bottom. You would think any shop used to working on them would be willing to make the cut if that's what has to happen.
I realize all these shops are only as reputable as their tech, kinda like a restaurant's only as good as the cook but Firestone by me had never heard of a shim for non-driven wheels (FrtWD) and told me I needed a new rear axle to get a Matrix 4 wheel aligned. Had to order it myself, bring it to them and explain it.
    The blind leading the blind.

Do you know of any of the shops that could get those trucks aligned? Want to find a place for this weekend (out of town w/o truck) so I can hopefully be up and running by next week when I go back to work.

I don't use a shop in LA but camburg uses a shop called "Daves frame and alignment" on their builds. May want to try them.

Thanks everyone for the help and advice. I was able to get a shorter set of extensions from the company - their customer service rocks! Here's the outcome.

Luckily the tie rod inners were not bottoming out so all I had to do was swap the extensions. I had a relatively easy time getting the toe close enough to drive to an alignment shop. I just followed this guy's method:

I just used two jackstands and some twine. I drove it around for awhile and it felt good - hopefully after an alignment from a shop that handles all of the company's builds it will feel better than ever!
