There have been a few people here that have tried it and have had the TPMS system crash.

The early 2nd Gen do allow a 5th sensor and the later 2nd Gen do not.

2nd Gen sensors Do Not work in the 3rd Gen trucks, I know this for fact, twice as I bought two sets of wheels off 2nd Gen trucks and spent too much time thinking they would work.

You are right, it is obviously not working with all 5 if is only reads 4. Copy that. I do think your idea about picking the spare as a rando and then losing it do to gear. Makes the most sense... Pull the sensor out of the spare sounds like the best next option..

    Thanks

IIRC the TPMS reads sensors and updates the screen after the wheels are turning.

Set up a 5th tire with a sensor on that truck, refresh that screen/program, and report back, please.

Do you normally ride around with spare on the swing out? Are all 5 ID's programmed into your system?

If 4 are programmed and it normally works then my guess is your gear in the bed is blocking the signal from one/both of the rear tires.

Your screen picture shows 4 sensors showing temps and pressure. The 5th shows nothing.

3rd Gen TPMS PCM system only allows 4 IDs to be programmed.

    Cause I don't have 5th sensor programmed.
Techstream is set to enter 5 sensor IDs.

It is not set up for 5 sensors. That's just Techstream.

There's an example from the repair manual for the 3rd gen explaining why you see the 5th sensor.

It should, but the truck only "sees" 4 in the dash.
Show me the proof, please. I would LOVE to have a 5th TPSM Sensor setup in my '17

Here's the file. All ID5's have the note that it is not used in the 3rd gen.

This makes total sense fot the synchronization and position.
Does it have the similar disclaimer for 5th Sensor temp, psi, ID? Thanks

I guess I'll try to add 5th one and see if it can be seen for static parameters.

    Solved it...

I would love to tell you how, but there will be so many people saying they already knew that, or I should have disclosed this particular piece of information. This will likely come from the people who think I cant use a tire pressure gauge...

A hint is: I have an access cab and figured it out when I pulled the roof liner when installing a Prinsu rack... And, it is from an item I specifically add when going out adventuring.
