I would call the company that sold it to you and tell them. Possibly a defect? You also may want to slide it back further so that collar is inside of the tip, it should be seated inside of the tip.

NeverDull or vinegar based window cleaner and a clean cotton shop rag. Looks like water spots from hard water.

Apparently nobody read that OP fixed it with Barkeepers Friend, and keep posting remedies for a solved problem.

Guilty. I wasn't going to read through 6 pages about spots on an exhaust tip. If I ever have that kind of time, I'll use it for something interesting like breast feeding a wolverine.

000 steel wool and soapy water or general purpose cleaner will clean that up without scratching.

What does it do to the sound? Any improvement or change?

It is enough of an improvement that I stopped thinking about a cat back.

There's a but of rumble at low RPMs. With the slider open, there is a sound of exhaust rush out at full throttle and high RPM.

Here are a few videos that I made:

Sorry for the portrait mode. To lazy to turn the mount.

That does sound nice! I could tell right away this was a MT -nice resonance on it much more than stock, no doubt at all there. (Also kudos on the blinker use :)

    Thanks on both accounts!

Being a rider, I'm a bit anal about blinkers, stop signs, and traffic lights. Speed and acceleration, well, that's my weakness. :D

The speed and acceleration comes from the bike too :bikewheelie:

Believe it or not, Mr. Clean magic eraser might do the trick. I have chrome exhaust on my motorcycle and have had a few spots on it near my footpegs where (im assuming) rubber from the sole of my boot melted onto it. I tried cleaning it, simichrome polish, and mothers mag polish with no luck. Magic eraser wiped it clean off

Edit: Just saw you got it cleaned off, my bad
