It is a 2wd TRD sport meaning it has a rear limited slip differential (LSD). It doesn't have a rear locker. Probably won't do well on rocks and sand. Might do alright in mud and will probably do pretty good on desert runs.

The LSD.. is that just something that is automatically there or is it like the ATRAC?

nope, if it was off-road, it would say "TRD Off-Road" (not being a smartass, just saying). could you off road? yes. would it turn out good? probably not, since it's a 2x4 and it's a sport model. it's set up to be driven on the street and that's about it. the off-road package is set up better for off roading with a better suspension, 4x4, and many other things that help out when off-roading. i think that you should just keep your truck in good shape by keeping it on the road and not stuck in a mudhole because that's what it was made for.

I believe it is the Auto LSD on the 08.

It's all about the driver.......... you just have to drive through obstacles faster and harder and hope you don't break anything. I too have a 2wd Sport and know my limits off road, also always bring a tow strap....... just in case
