but i agree it depends on what he is driving on. if he is wanting to ride trails and shit the 5 lug is not a good choice but if he lives out west and see's alot of desert then he may be ok if he builds it properly.

I am not building a crawler or offroader here. Just want some nice 16's to replace the ridiculous wheel barrel tires. And the fat bobs kit gives it a nice lift, nothing too crazy. I live in the prairies in Canada so there are no hills haha. I just want to know if those rims will fit well. I know its a 4 cyl auto, thats why I am not building anything ridiculous... Stereo, rims +tires... lift and done! I got other project cars/bikes to work on...

also in the future re gearing should not be a problem as I work as a transmission dynamometer operator at a transmission/diff. facility :)

you won't have to regear then trust me it will be fine.

i started off on my build with a do anything rig in mind it still has a few things to go on before its done but, its very very close:) now i have a rig that can cross a river crawl over rocks and go through some deep ass snow pretty much anything i like i guess with in reason.

these trucks are tough and fairly capable right out of the wrapper so i'm sure you will get your moneys worth post pics when your done and good luck.

    A few bolts are different.
I would disagree with that, I was schooling a Reg cab last weekend. But yes, Reg cabs still do great in specific situations. In others a longer wheelbase is the ticket to winning. Just all depends.

Blacked out badges, weathertechs, painted grill, cut tailpipe, removed mud flaps, black head lights, red calipers, tinted tails, front and rear bilsteins are here along with fatbobs spacer and aal awaiting install, also a set of 16 inch pro comps are here and 265/75/16 dynapros
i have a 5 lug access aswell, i dont really care if it doesnt have 6 lugs or 4x4, its my lil truck and its AWSOME. does any job i need it to to. The best thing to really do with these trucks i have seen is to fat bob it and upgrade the shocks and struts, wheel and rim size is almost endless just comes down to what fits. personally i think im going to go with a 255/85/16 on 16/8 rims next. The truck came with gangster 20 inch rims and i want the rugged look. you can do alot of the same mods as the other guys like light bars, bumpers ect. Also little mods like floor mats, head lights, and satoshi grills are cool to! good luck with your build and post pics! i need to post pics of what ive done to.

maybe it was the driver and not the truck  the shorter wheel base of a reg cab truck and jeeps are awesome on trails and going over obstacles.

your truck is an extended cab right? it's the dc that suffer a bit off road.
