Evening, everyone! I spent the afternoon at the local pick-a-part to do some shopping. My driver's side power window was slipping when I would try to roll it up. After dismantling the motor assembly, it turned out that the big gear had come apart where the teeth meet the upper, keyed portion. That's all it needed.

They didn't have much tacoma stuff, so I headed over to a T100 and later a 4Runner. Here are the differences in motors:

Tacoma: shorter wires, white plug, same spur gear as 4Runner

4Runner: longer wires, grey plug, bolts right up, but operates in reverse. So you would have to swap the positive and negative wires on the motor to make it work. Same spur gear as Tacoma

T100: different, more robust-looking spur gear, but of a different size. The gear probably wouldn't interchange with a Tacoma motor. (Not positive because I opted for a 4Runner assembly.)

NOTE: Left and right hand gears **might** be different. The 4Runner gear went from driver's side to driver's side.

Conclusion: I had the 4Runner motor all ready to go, but after noticing the reversed polarity, I just installed the new spur gear on my old oem unit. It works great now!
