Eh, it's just the tailgate, take some pictures of it and keep them with your truck documents and come resale people can see it wasn't a big deal. I personally plan on keeping my truck until it rusts to shit so I'd just keep the money.

Luckily your damage is a "perfect" damage. If she hit your front , a lot of parts will be crumpled.
They'll just replace the tailgate. I'd like to know what she was driving to not damage your bumper.

My front end in my car was backed into before, didn't do much besides crush the factory bumper skin. Got a new bumper and I dented license plate now lol.

Resale value drops just driving it off the lot. If you're so worried about it take pictures and include it for the next purchase of the truck so they can see what the damage was. Carfax doesnt mean it's the absolute value on the truck you can sell it for. If its well maintained and the documentation is presented you shouldnt have any problem getting a decent resale. I'd rather have a true carfax report with an accident reported with pics of damage if I were buying a vehicle than something with a "clean" carfax that looks like it's been through hell and back because the owner did repairs.

Yeah it's an inconvenience but life is full of them.

Sorry to hear about the bimbo backing into you!

At least your truck didn't fall over!

    KnockOver2013-1.jpg

BTW, that was a $2,000 knock over for the guy's insurance!

Imagine being at the car wash while being wheeled thru in neutral. Some POS in a corolla in front of you decides to try to press the brake pedal and put it in drive (ACCIDENTALLY PUTTING IT IN REVERSE) before the car is even out of the car wash backing up into YOU!!!!! laying on the horn and the entire car wash shutdown with probably enough room to fit a dollar bill between bumpers.

    Happened to me last week.

And you can just leave the tailgate at the body shop.

I learned a long time ago.

ALWAYS have uninsured motorist on your insurance policy! I have had to use this 3 times in the past 20 years. Insurance company will take care of you no problems asked and sue the uninsured bastard.

Quit stealing my ideas!! Lol. Actually my buddy bought a truck with a salvage title and the only reason he did was because of all the documentation and pictures the guy had from the accident and the repairs. It can really benefit you when it comes to a sale.

Sorry to hear about your incident. I was curious as to what type of vehicle she was driving considering the height of the damage to your tailgate.

Was she supposed to have done it sooner?

JK. That'd bother most people. At least you and your child weren't hurt.
