Want some opinions from some fellow taco owners on which route you believe i should go. Can't decide between two different routes. My options i'm looking at are.

    1) Maxtrac 4' spindles lift
bilsteins 5100 adj. all around front and rear
Head strong 3 leaf progressive aal

    2) Rough country 4' db lift kit
    http://www.roughcountry.com/toyota-suspension-lift-kit-75720.html

Really cant decide and not sure which route will be better on the truck in the long run.

Looking to put on some 285/65r18 4.5 back space 0 offset
Has them from my previous truck and only had on for 3 weeks.

Some opinions would be awesome thank you.

Ouf of curiosity, is the 2nd option not a good one?

Someone i know got this on his 2nd gen and they had to cutout a piece of his frame to install the lift. Based on that alone, i would never get this lift. Any other disadvantages?

I'm not sure i just notice someone else posted the rough country lift. Everyone was hating on it saying rough country is garbage so was curious as to what others would say in which route i should take.

Rough country is basically a spacer lift. It will work but typically rides like shit and your kind of stick in a corner. Option 1 leaves you with more option in the future. Option 2 you will need to scrap and pretty much start over. This is if you plan to off road your truck at all. If not and just want it for looks a the local mall them option 2 is for you cheap and effective.
Edit. Option 1 is around 700 vs option 2 can be as low as 200 - 400

Don't plan on doing much off-roading. However both options are going to cost about the same. and like you said option 2 there's no going back. 200-400 spacer lift out of the question though. Not very good in the long run on a vehicle iv'e heard. Had one on my frontier bu tit wasn't a brand new truck.

So question answered, go with option 1 and you will be happy not painting yourself into a corner.

    I never recommend a 4 foot lift.

On a serious note it's not recommended to go over 3", anything more will need a diff drop. You will also need to swap out the driver needle bearing.

so would i not need any of those since im 2wd?

Also says it increases track width .75". im assuming that means its .75" closer to rubbing the uca etc on tire?
Or pushes tires out .75" like a wheels spacer?

#1 is a better way to lift a 2wd if your good with the height and track increase.
It's a spindle lift; basically moves the hub down and out, to get lift and track increase.
You also retain your stock suspension and steering angles.

#2 is a crossmember drop lift, meant for 4wd.

You don't need ecgs needle bearing or diff drop. Just need the lift spindles, bilstien 5100's, and the aal to begin with. Track width will be wider. Pushed out 3/4 of a inch on front tires, rear will need 1 inch spider Trax spacer to even it out if you want to. Not necessary though.
