Looking good. You should get you one of those steps for your hitch.

Exactly this. Tacomas fit through small trails so you can get much farther off the beaten path.

That and the fact it is already heavily modded & likely paid off, no reason to start from scratch :notsure:

Okay, I get it. The larger trucks are a mere 6"~ wider so in my limited experience in this type of adventure leads me to the bigger more powerful truck. You'll do fine. The Tacoma is a durable truck. Best of luck and I hope you post some pictures along the way. Do you maybe have a travel log blog? I'd be tuning in for sure.

Sub’d for interest. I’m running over 1k load on my 3rd Gen and always looking to increase the safety factor. Brakes have been on my short list as a smart improvement. Also I’m looking at a re-Gear (right now scheduled the first week of April at East Coast Gear Supply) but a couple of weeks away in this crazy times leaves a lot of room for changes). That said I’m running OME HD leafs (+660lbs) and Firestone Ride Rites, with Daystar Cradles and actually I have a custom brackets now that I’ll be installing to give me the use of bump stops again. I went lighter leafs with bags so I can still have a drivable truck with my camper removed.

Good luck with your adventures. Sounds awesome!

1100lbs loaded and filled with water and fluids. Actually feels great driving. You shouldn’t have any problems with your FWC.

Shot you a follow on IG, also I saw your truck posted by Main Line earlier

Thanks. So is yours. I love that black camper on the Quicksand Taco. Looking at your IG it looks like we have some friends in common. Christian, Juan and a few others in that Long Island crew. Those are some good people. Congrats again!

No, I’m Upstate but I wheel with those guys a fair amount. We usually cross paths a few times a year.

I think a tricked out Tacoma fits the "image" better than a plain Jane 1/2 ton full-size with twice the capabilities, better mileage and longer range ;-)

Saw your rig all over instagram the last few days. Looks rad and well done so far. Sub'd for trip reports and FWC hacks.

Congrats, think about going bigger on your leaf springs. You'll be much happier with a leaf pack that is specced for your full wet weight than picking up the extra with the airbags if you're going to have it on full time.

No you'd want to get your truck weighed when it's loaded and then you can have them made exactly to your weight. Deavers, atlass, a bunch of other good companies.

And then come hang out with us other FWC dwellers out west :D:cheers:
