Hi all. I'm looking at new TRD off roads. Pricing seems to be all over the place. Looked at almost identical trucks at 3 different dealers and the differences in price were very far apart. One dealer told me the Tacoma factory shut down so I can forget about paying less than sticker and probably would need to pay more than sticker. Another dealer said thats false but still very little room on price. I know tacomas have astounding resale and dealers don't really mark them down due to the high demand. Looking for a TRD offroad 4x4 v6 double cab. Any input would be appreciated. My last tacoma was in 2012 SR5 dbl cab 4x4 but it had one of the predetination/pinging motors that I sold before Toyota acknowledged the problem and did some kind of reflash to the computer to fix it. Also are there any known issues on the current 3.5 motor. Long post sorry.. Thanks

Only aesthetic mods so far Leer 180 cap & Clazzio covers on order.
It's the Law of Supply & Demand.
Limited supply (the factory is building them but the supply chain is all screwed up thanks to COVID).
Demand is down somewhat but not enough to encourage aggressive pricing.
Dealers are hurting thanks to limited supply of all models so they're mostly trying to keep the profit margins up.

It's just not a good time for a good deal.

While it's not much of a consolation, I started my pursuit of a 2020 Tacoma TRD OR AC in June 2020. Dealer wasn't keen on trying to order what I wanted. Toyota finally relented - it got into production end of September - delivered to the dealer last month - still haggling over the OTD price as of this afternoon. Best I'm likely to do is 4-5% under MSRP AFTER adding all of the BS fees, taxes and such. Also a good chance I'll simply walk away after dealing with whiny sales managers and some details with the finance manager.

If all goes okay in spite of the static, I MAY have my new truck by Christmas.

That's about the target I hit, around 4.5% under MSRP. Good luck with the new truck.
