Yeah it sucks...but if the damage is minor then you are probably better off :smack:the other person and then leaving quickly so they can't get your info and just getting it fixed at a bodyshop for like $75-100.

    edit: I don't suggest this ;)

    One word:

    Sliders.

Install some of those then you can sit back and laugh when people fling their door open. Go home, get out a can of spray paint and all better. I saw someone fling their door open just they other day and boy were they pissed once they realized the door hit my sliders. Fun times.:D:cool:

none except for crappy hub caps and floor mats.
Reminds me of when I was in High school I had a shiny, 1988 Celica ( this was a long time ago) that I had just re-painted a nice dark metallic blue. I'd been driving it for 3 days with the new paint when one of the ditzy cheerleaders in the parking lot backed up and nailed the bumper, cracking off a lot of the paint on it. I got out and she denied that she had done any damage and claimed my car looked like that because it was old ( the car was 4 years old at that time) Well anyway, I got her parent's number and they gave me the same BS. It cost me $150 to get the bumper re-painted, which back then was a LOT of dough.

wow, all these stories are crazy. makes me think of this one time when some woman was trying to park in the spot next to mine, she cut too close. Tore the crud out of the back passenger door and quarter panel on her new impala. It didn't leave a single scratch on the taco, All I had to do was wipe the paint off my rear bumper.

Yeah, talk about glad to be driving a truck. I had a lady rear end me going 55ish on the interstate a few years ago, it folded her hood up like an accordion and left me with some chipped paint on my home-welded steel bumper.

Same thing just happened to my '09 Double Cab.

Dent and white paint from the offending vehicle (which I suspect belongs to a co-worker of mine) is on my Magnetc Gray kick panel.

I can't prove who did it as no one saw it. The co-worker (with a white car) always parks on that side (I get to work early and always get the end spot to stay away from this sort of nonsense).

So I'm stuck. I politely asked her, she said it wasn't from her car. Nothing I can do.

Its only a felony if there is bodily injury and they left the scene. The most that she "could" have been charged for was misdemeanor property damage and leaving the scene and failure to report it. She could have easily continued to say "I didnt realize I hit your truck" and even with a witness its still a "he said-she said" incident. I had a similar thing happen to my wifes minivan but damage was done when we were not around, caved in the passenger side door and just filed a claim with ins. people and they filed it under uninsured motorist.

I know back home in Calgary it is illegal for a shop to fix a vehicle without a police report if there's more than $1000 worth of damage. Doesn't matter if a toolbox in the garage falls off the shelf onto the vehicle, they still require a police report. Mind you, you don't necessarily have to have the cops come out. You can take it to a police station for the report.

You show her who's the boss! At least you got a witness. Go buy him a beer!!! Get this... I heard my son hit my truck with my wife's door. I couldn't yell at him although my wife was expecting it. Oh well, lucky for you you should be able to get it popped out. No repainting! Good luck.

This kinda shit has always pissed me off. I always park way out in parking lots but sometimes we are forced to park by other people in small parking lots. My wife was parked way out in a lot one time at a grocery store and some fuck face with a big Hummer jammed up against her and doored her bad. I drove back to the lot and the SOB's vehicle was gone. I told her the next time something like that happened take a quick look around then kick their fucking door in.

Just got a new dent in rear panel. Was just looking at truck yesterday thingking how lucky I have been over a year. This town has a hell of alot of chevy and ford trucks.
Not that I'm paranoid or nothing, but I wouldn't put it pass one of them with all the GM crap going on. Really pissed me off. I am very careful when I open my door. Have to be a mindless shthead to do it and not leave a note! Still really pissed when I look at it. Got to calm down. Sorry about your damages guys.
