You seem offended. I have not raced professionally. I've raced go karts and what not back in the day, but nothing special. Go ahead with your argument of "its completely different"...

I believe you asked me previously. I am an athlete, not professional.

So TeamS what do you consider to be the most physically and mentally demanding professional sport out there?

I'm not completely closed minded on the subject. But the evidence given to me, and the lack of science behind the evidence has less than convinced.

I mentioned I am going for physical therapy as my career choice. well anyone in the medical field will agree you have to be pretty opened minded until with your diagnosis and willing to change when evidence proves you wrong.

No one has broughten forth scientific evidence of how racing a car is an athletic event.

With as much "you made a statement? Back it up with evidence" that goes on here (example being the global warming thread) I would expect some hard data from scientific sources.

With everything in this world, it is not true until proven otherwise.

Depends on what your lookong for, kind of a tough question.

I would have to say something either triathlon athletes have the most demanding sport since they have to train up their body three different ways or I would have to say a sport that has an "aged" popuation compared to other sports since it takes that long to build up the body to professional competitive level.

And since you said professional, these would not be the average athletes with in the sport. Correct me if I'm wrong, but you are talking about the elites of the sport.

Not that i have found but there is no evidence saying that they are professional athletes.

Along the lines of innocent until proven guilty kid situation. you have no evidence that the person is innocent, but they are sure labeled that way.

The first article has been posted, and posting "evidence" from a f1 website is like posting the benefits of cannabis from a cannabis magizine during a cannabis debate.

    As for the second article..

Ever wonder why parents fret about fevers that get bove 101 or 102? The proteins in your body cannot with stand prolong temperatures about about 108+/- a few. If they are willing to bend, exaggerate or leave out part of the truth, they are probably willing to put out false facts to grab the attention of readers.

And seeing how they cited no sources, that is far from scientific a scientific magazine, I am not really buying that.

A trained surgeon has to stand on his/her feet for up to hours at a time, with mind-bending concentration and precision hand-eye coordination, and gets paid very well to do it. Is that person an athlete? No. Race car drivers are great at what they do, and can do it better than anyone else out there. Still does not make them an athlete.

Riddle me this Batman, why do the winter OLYMPICS have Luge as a winter olympic sport? You're going to tell me that the guy riding doesn't do anything but sit and hope to win the race? Why is the driver still considered an olympian?

The driver is considered an Olympian because he is in the Olympics.:)
