    I'm not going to take either side here.. OP is trying to his research so he can build a quality bumper that everyone is bashing that he can't build a safe one. If someone would help then he would have safe. I don't believe in copying the exact design but some 'guidance' could be in order.

    OK, Ill help guide him.

    1) Remove front plastic bumper

    2) Remove aluminum 5mph bumper

    3) Use 3 bumper mount bolts on both sides of truck as starting reference points

    4) Construct cardboard bumper

    5) Transfer dimensions off cardboard over to CAD or paper

    6) Get metal shop to produce steel

    7) Weld together

    8) Sip beer and be proud of your accomplishments


    and we know this how? because he said so?

    That was actually just a bad joke. I don't think anyone who would mas produce a knock off would not just buy one to use as a template.
