Thanks for all of your help while I was looking at the '03 last week. The guy balked at my offer, so I moved on.

Lucky for me, I was able to track down a very nice 2WD 4 cyl '04 ext cab with 79K mi in KCMO. A young gal bought it as a Certified Used 5 years ago and drove it back and forth to school. Other than one decent rock chip and a small chip in the Windshield, the truck looks brand new. I don't think there was ever an item, other than gym clothes, thrown on top of that perfect Line-X coated bed. The inside looks just as clean as the outside. I'm thrilled. I'm lucky.

The title just cleared and she's all mine.

Look forward to being part of the community.

    NICE!

I love the older alloy wheels. The 01-04 alloys look terrible IMO.

    Thanks guys!

    First things to mod, ehh?

Well as I bought it mainly as a Motorcycle hauler, I know I need a nice folding aluminum ramp for loading this:

    IMG_0455_99d09663f265190fc35be94387ca08aa82ca79c8.jpg

Some decent tie-downs and perhaps a wheel chock. Any suggestions?

Is the Deck-lid Mod only for V6's or can I do it for the 'lil 4 banger too?

Prob a K&N filter and a new Stereo head unit (Stock single CD unit for sale soon!! Any interest?), speakers, amp and small sub.

Also going to go through and swap fluids :)D) new plugs/wires/get the grease gun out, etc... since I really don't know the PO. Might even throw a code reader on it to see if there are any surprises.

I'll start with those... any suggestions?

You can definitely do the airbox mod to the 4 cylinder, I did it. I've got an AFE Prodry filter, I like it better than the KN because you don't need oil. For mine, I've actually closed the deckplate, it seems to work better for me but everybody's situation is different so I'd definitely try it. Good idea for a comprehensive fluid change, that way you know the age of all the various oil and maybe even get a shop to do a coolant flush and refill.

My luck just keeps getting better. She handed me a stack of receipts for EVERY oil-change/ tire rotation/ check-up/ maintenance and dollar spent on the truck. I'd keep this PO if I didn't have a girl already.

Kinda waiting for the other shoe to drop. Still thrilled tho.

I bought mine from a woman as well, and aside from some small coffee stains, she had seat covers, steering wheel cover, double floor mats, dash cover, and all the records, sometimes, you can't go wrong with a female owned truck, hardly ever abused.:D
