I didn't say I liked the "retarted submarine" either!

You've got to hand it to the guy who ponied up for it - it takes a serious set of cojones to build a boat that big, that different, for that much money. You've got to be PRETTY sure of yourself.

And yes, we find the whole "yacht" thing a bit of a drag. Our ideal set up would be an expedition type boat set up for adventuring (with emphasis on diving).

If we could make money diving, we'd be doing it. I worked a live-aboard dive boat for 4+ years that did 40+ weeks of charter PER YEAR. Sometimes back to back charters for 15 weeks on end...that'll knock you on your ass, be sure.

    Work smarter, not harder!

Yup forgot about watersking/wakeboarding/tubing, i was more referring to the rediculous sized yachts. In all the time i've spent on the water i've never seen a huge yacht pull anyone behind it, just some smug rich guy proveing he has more money then he knows what to do with.

For sure many are like that but I'm sure some enjoy luxury cruising as well. Who wouldn't want to not work and just travel the world on a beautiful yacht?

This may not count as a ridiculous sized yacht but I know a guy in Miami that uses a wake board line and a surfboard behind his 60 or so ft boat. pretty funny if you ask me.

I didn't know Frank Mundus...but I was in Montauk as a young kid working at the Montauket Hotel when the call would come in from Frank that he was bringing in a Great White.

Back then, Tuma's dock was the place all the deep sea charter fishing boats worked out of and everyone would head on down to see the catch.

I remember getting up close to a Great White hanging there that scared the hell out of me. Don't forget, when they hang up by their tails, all their guts bulge downward making them that much bigger around.

Let's see, I spent 2 summers working there when I was 14-15 so this was like, 30/31 years ago. Jaws had just come out a few years prior to that and seeing them up close kept me out of the water for quite a while!
