I filled out some paperwork to get my truck repaired next week. The guy ran my vin and printed me out an estimate, that also showed the features and options on the truck. One of the features was cruise contol, however I don't have cruise control. All I have is a loose connector on the passenger side of the engine bay which I assume is for the cruise control. If the PO took it off, I'd slap him upside the head. So, how much would it be to install cruise control?

that would be the actuator box under the hood and it should have two big throttle looking cables there as well, one runs into the firewall by the steering to hook to gas pedal and the other goes to the throttle body.

the actual CC control module is behind the passenger side kick panel by your feet. if yours is missing then you find the part number of yours (based on your vin) and you can get one off of ebay for around $50 or buy a new one from the dealer for around $300. it sounds like all trucks come set up for it and it just depends on your options if it was installed or not so I wouldn't rely on the vin to tell you things other then part numbers, weather yours had this or that is likely beyond its record keeping and it just lists all available stuff for it.

if your truck had cruise it should have a small CC arm (2-3" long) on the right side of steering wheel with your cruise control settings.

not all vehicles came with it but I suppose it could have been removed and sold but I doubt it.

I'll post a pic tomorrow of the engine bay. And my steering wheel doesnt have anything on it. Maybe he changed out the wheel?

It was most likely pre-wired as an option. Mine has lots of "extra" plugs under the hood.
