If you use the defroster the a/c will automatically come one even if you are heating things up. Leave the a/c on as it helps to reduce moisture in the system. Cracking a side window a little also helps.

Just clarifying that would only be the last three positions on the manual HVAC dial. I have had cars that gave full control over the a/c compressor even in the defrost settings, which was excellent. We can't have it all.

You are right though, and I have enjoyed the vent visors. They are what I use for defrosting these days.

My 2021 has a little of this type of issue I figure it's just me exhaling CO2 ..
I do keep my windows cracked at least 1/4 inch all the time, don't worry about rain we don't get any.

2003 Pathfinder we had for 14 years did this. Off gassing of cabin materials onto the windshield. I haven't noticed this with our 2020 Tacoma in the past 4.5 years. Maybe a small water leak somewhere? Do you have a sun roof?

My 18 has always done this. My wife's previous car did this as well. At first I thought it was something in the air but her new car isn't doing it.

Every vehicle i have ever owned has had the foggy/hazy windshield. I've always chalked it up to dirty/dusty air, shit just gets dirty.
a 6 inch squeegee and some soapy water cleans it pretty good and if you can manage to fan that squeegee, you'll avoid streaks.

Yep - Phoenix - I've lived all over the USA and I do everything in my power to not go east of the Mississippi
or South of the Mason Dixon Line. To wet, too humid, too many bugs, too cold, too muggy, ... give me hot and dry.

Not sure if this was said already. On my 11th gen civics 2022+ (have owned 3 different ones) the windshield would fog up inside horrendously. Especially when cold out. After some research I read to change the air circulation from inside to outside circulation. Huge difference and it's no longer a problem. Check your climate control settings and see if changing things around helps.

My Tacoma, and my 2013 RAV4 had this bad since new. The RAV was way worse. Perhaps off gassing of the leather was worse than just the plastic alone in the Taco. tried Bon Ami glass cleaner, Windex, spray nine, 70% and 99% isopropyl and even carb cleaner on a cloth. Nothing would get it all off without streaking the residue around and leaving a slight film behind.

Glass would return to a hazy mess in short order, especially noticeable if it slightly fogged up inside. Stoners Invisible Glass cleaner and newspaper got both windshields perfect, and with a monthly cleaning they are much easier to keep crystal clear. It must have been off gassing of various materials. I didn't store anything in the vehicles, no air fresheners vaping/smoking etc and never use recirc. Got it so clean I noticed a weird ripple on the windshield of my 2018 Tacoma. Oddly enough, ALL the other windows, and glass sunroof on the RAV seemed to gather no residue at all... Just the windshields. I only solved this issue for myself last year lol

The windshield cleaning is worse lol

I have never experienced this, but it may be the glass cleaner you are using or the way you're cleaning it. However, try a anti fog solution. Maybe you get get some at a local auto parts store or online. I think Rain X sold a product as it may still be available.

Use a glass cleaner and microfiber towel. But buff it with a completely dry microfiber towel (2nd one).

My 2021 has slowed down off gassing considerably, but cleaning as above has helped even my older cars that tend to fog and you would see the swirl marks from cleaning previously when it was a slightly damp towel.

Pretty much every vehicle I've owned made in the last 15 years or so coats the inside of the window with something. I don't recall that ever being an issue with the old vehicles I've owned.

Most likely it's the freon substitute in the ac. My '05 kia still does this too. When you use the defrost it auto-enables the ac slightly so you are getting that chemical spewed on your windshield every morning you have to defog your window. Dunno about the off-gassing of vinyl and stuff, perhaps that too.....
