This is where the wool blanket/sleeping bag bit comes in. Sometimes you just gotta say fuck it, and have yourself a snooze. It’s like... dog myself out and go home? Or make some dehydrated beef stroganoff and pass the fuck out like a honey badger? I’ll take honey badger all day.

Boom. Did it. This should be your first line gear. Toilet paper. Duct tape for utility purposes and first aid (bandage, tourniquet, wound seal, occlusive bandage), a bolt action rifle with good glass, fire starter, blanket, and a sharp AF axe with a good spine to strike the ferro. Everything else is a specialty/luxury
    EF34CCFC-F3B2-4221-865C-50BDE08F7737.png

Stay warm. Build a fire. Take down your food and cook it. Defend yourself. Stabilize wounds. Tape shit to things. Process wood. Clean animals. Sleep in the bed/in the cab. Repeat.

It’s not exciting, but if you can do more with less, you become useful. Minus some camping extras and stuff from my garage, you wouldn’t even know that stuff was in there.

The spirit is the most important thing in any case where you have to bust out the survival kit. It’s been said that recreating keeps you happy, which keeps you alive, and I believe that. Good call. I’d like to get a cowboy action and some leather for it, that way while I’m stuck and staying alive, I can practice some old-time draws. Also revolvers are just THE BEST to gear-fuck when you’re in bed. Lots of clicky moving parts, it’s the fidget toy for the adult man child.

One of each of these with a med kit and some 4 wheeling gear. Basically a beater rifle and pistol that I know works but also isn’t anything special / has been beat up here and there.

    I used to. I'm down to a edc and a cz527.

Wanted to condense for being on foot , and although I could use the AK for hunting, the cz shoots tighter.

Plus, govt has radar so I'm just gonna hide and hunt anyways haha

I with you on that. Steyr S9 is the edc but I like a full size in the car safe with a light due to highway travel in low reception areas being weekly now. I use to have a mk25/ mp5k zenith Clone but with the increase of camping in the Bradshaw’s I have been keeping a rifle and after shooting a steyr pistol I have 3. A little time spent with Robar and they are GTG. Actually all 4 of those have had time with Robar with some Np3 and poly T2

Nice! I think the biggest thing isn't how you attack life. It's just that you have some sort of plan. That's the key in my opinion.

Although I might have to change my answer to my handheld Ham radio and portable antennas + water to be honest.

You got a point. More likely to need the water and radio then the pistol but hey if you can do all the above

Could be nothing. Mostly a respect thing. But there's also a whole generation of retired old timers who will track you down on principal and you could get fined by the FCC. It's called foxhunting.

In case if emergency you can use ham with no repercussions. But the point of getting a license is that like any good tool, you want to use it frequently and be skilled with it, and that requires practice and knowledge
