My dad was born in Libya.

his parents were AF back in the day, stationed at crete. they only had a small clinic so they had to fly to the nearest hospital.

So on my birth certificate it says "fathers place of birth, Tripoli Libya".

Had a stroke 2 days before my 21st B-day, while I was unconscious in the hospital a hurricane blew through the town and tore it up, when I woke up I was completely paralyzed from my right side...

The pic in my sig shows how well I've recovered.

Had a blood clot in my leg & hospitalized 3 days before my trip to the US Open in San Diego. I had free passes & all access to the golf event. Plus entry to the USGA hospitality tent. And it turned out to be one of the best opens yet. Tiger went into a Monday playoff to win it. I had to watch it on tv.:(

I did go to the US Open back in 2005 @ Pinehurst,NC. With the same deal free passes. :D

Ran a 19,000 Ton (YES I said TON) coal train while my engineer was taking care of some business. 4 locomotives with 17,600 horse power. That was fun but kind of scary because if something happened to it I was the one that got to fix it.

I have been to the Normandy Beaches, Tasmania, Belize, and lots of places in between. I have been the first in the front door of several houses that are on fire. I have done CPR while out riding my dirt bike, waiting a long time for the local EMS to show up, and the best.... i crashed my dirt bike going about 1 mph in front of over 100 people I was trying to "pass" as I deemed they were in my way. Broke 3 ribs and got a nice round of applause from the group. Not my finer moment, but a good lesson in life.

lived in Okinawa for 4 yrs, got into some "No Gaijin" (Japanese only) bars on a regular basis [my Japanese was pretty decent], hung out with some yakuza guys with full chest tats, black suits, and "VIP" cars, made it to "The Stage" in Naha more times than I would like to admit, passed a Japanese cop doing over 180KPH and he didn't even bother to give chase, seen the banana show off Gate 2 street, 1 too many times.

The list could go on, but you get the picture.. I doubt most people have done those things.

man I was in OKI for 2 years and never went to see the banana show...

Although I am probably safe to say that I am probably the only Mexican to have ever gone to Kume Island which is a few miles off of OKI. I'll tell you though, it seems like those locals on that island had never seen anybody else other than Japanese, the way they looked at me, waved, and smiled, I felt like a celebrity. haha

My dad is a close friend of the Vice Chief of Staff of the Air Force (Philip Breedlove)...He was in pilot training with him... which makes him somewhat of a family friend.

Hopefully one of these days I can add that I fly fighters in the USAF.
