I guess you can't post pics, for some reason, I have always been fascinated with nuclear power plants. I love to see pics of that large pool with the fuel in there.

We have two nuclear plants near by. Was hung over one morning years ago and was heading out of the house to get breakfast. And aparently they were bringing in a new reactor (or what ever that big cylider thing is), needless to say they were dropping power lines to fit it down the road and I ended up with cops around me. Kind of funny and cool to see a motorized trailer with about a thousand wheels and a guy with a remote walking in front of it. I guess living by the lake isn't all its cracked up to be.

You mean this? FWIW They are cooling towers they cool, and clean, the steam/air that's coming out so that it won't ruin the environment.

Probably a steam generator. We have a plant very close to where I live and I know a few people who work out there. They just replaced the steam generators very recently. It's basically a huge heat exchanger. One set of pipes with radioactive water in them, one set of pipes with non radioactive water that's getting turned into steam to spin the turbines. Most of the actual reactor is in the ground and stays there for the life of the plant.

It was fun, but I will never do that again. When I reached the bottom of the hill, I realized I literally pissed myself a little :anonymous: . I was a crazy skier in High School, but I've mellowed down. I enjoy a relaxing backcountry day or a powder day, but my stupidity/adrenaline fueled skiing days are over. Especially after all the injuries/recoveries, I've realized how important good health is at a young age.
