It's actually an incredibly old mod which has been being done on these trucks for a really long time. I personally have always liked the look. There are some who do not but hey, that's their journey.

try seeing a mini cooper with a light bar under front bumper on while in traffic in the bay area... really made me cringe.

Other than trying to avoid missiles with legs and antlers on way deep forest roads with no campers or houses, my lights stay off. I'm a fan of a good light leading a pack, and ditch lights almost all the way out to the side and down and verifying via radio that that truck in front isn't bothered or I turn them off.

We can get the ham members to verify with them for you

I have a light bar in my hood scoop! And ditch lights and a light bar and soon to have anber lights all around my roof rack... but I only use those in night time camp setups or night trail runs.

I go the exact opposite around camp. DRL's only. Fog lights if absolutely needed. If it's a shared camp it's just the considerate thing to do imo.

Lightbars for street use are already outlawed. A very select few make SAE street legal high beam pattern light bars, like Rigid, but even those are illegal to use with oncoming traffic. Drop in replacement LED headlight and LED fog light 'bulbs' are also highly illegal and blind people on the road when used in a reflector, but look at how many people run those on here, and look at how many vendors very actively promote and sell these products. The issue may not actually be the individual, it is often lack of understanding.

If they are mounted higher than the headlights put those covers on when on road.

Wait I've never seen a cover for a light bar!

I feel like cops generally have bigger concerns than pulling people over for headlights. Is a dash cam really going to do anything?
