    Long shot but did you end of finding the issue with this 2009 not starting ?

    Yes. It was the transponder amplifier that is located behind the gauge cluster. The part was $450 from the dealer.

    Hi, yours was cranking but not starting correct?
    Because my 2006 Tacoma, sometimes cranks and starts and sometimes it doesn’t crank at all. I can sit the for a while turning the key and nothing and then I can come out and it starts right up. Not sure what it is. I did change the PN switch on it and the gears are now marking the correct response on the dash. But I get the no crank at all symptoms.

    Yes I cleaned the terminals checked the fuse and relay for the starter, they are good, I think maybe could be the starter but not sure. It started happening after I changed the prndl switch on the side of transmission.

    I also cleaned the connections at the starter.

    I tried moving the parking neutral switch back-and-forth as my wife was turning the key to see if that does it but it still did not crank at all sometimes you turn the key and it cranks but most of the time you turn the key and nothing happens no crank no nothing

    Check for a signal coming out of the ignition switch in the crank position
