Yea, I thought a sequel might be in the works when I saw Abel holding the SON ring at the end.

 

Exactly. That boy will always have demons. He's being put in the same situation as Jax was as a child. Minus having a SON as a step dad. I think he'll be drawn to the lifestyle.

 

Well if it were real.. All the sons are dead already. You kill an IRA King and charming would be worlds largest car bomb a couple days later.

My biggest thought were, will everyone write this off as jacks being nuts and not consider it a club hit?

 

Anyone else notice that Jax is always on a roof?

Guys I just teared up watching the finale.. I'm genna miss this show.. That's for sure.

 

Anyone else read the write up that this wasn't Shakespeare references, but biblical? Interesting twist, I caught on with the bread and wine towards the end with the homeless woman... Then Jax pose at the end.

I personally thought that it was all biblical there at the end. The bread and wine, the homeless woman saying "It's time." She, to me, seemed like a "guardian angel" if you will.

 

Almost bought it. But it was like $179

A little long, but this is my take on it...

In season 2, it was indicated that Gemma thought JT killed himself. After reading JT's manuscript, Jax comes to believe that Clay sabotaged JT's motorcycle and that JT died as a result.

However, in the end that doesn't seem like the case. During Jax's conversation with JT at the side of the road, it seems that Jax finally came to the conclusion that JT did kill himself in order to prevent Jax from becoming part of SAMCRO.

We also see that he finally understood what JT wanted (the same thing he now wants for his own sons); that Jax not have anything to do with SAMCRO.

However, we know that through the efforts of Gemma and Maureen (JT's Irish lover), that Jax was told stories and given information about JT that caused Jax to idolize him. He was repeatedly told that JT was a good man and through the manuscript and letters, Jax saw or thought he saw, that JT had a dream for SOA; a dream that Jax wanted to make come true because his father, JT, was a good man (when in fact he was not a good man. He was a criminal and a killer, just like Jax is now).

In the end Jax comes to see that JT didn't want him to try and set the club straight. He didn't want Jax involved in SAMCRO at all. Jax sees that where JT went wrong with him was that JT left him with Gemma, who fed him lies and misinformation and manipulated him his entire life.

During that conversation he had with JT, Jax told JT that he didn't really have a choice because Gemma (the matriarch of the club) had plans. We all know by now what those plans were: money and power and in the end for her son to take over SAMCRO to keep it in the family.

In the end, based on what Jax told Nero (When the time is right, Wendy should tell them who I really am. I'm not a good person. I'm a criminal and a killer) we see that Jax killed Gemma, not only because she killed Tara, but also so that she couldn't influence and manipulate his kids and turn Jax into a superhero that they idolized, like she did with JT.

So we can surmise that when Jax killed Gemma, he knew he was going to kill himself too.

To protect his sons from his SOA legacy, he also burned JT's letters and manuscripts, and his own journals that he had been keeping. He sold any interests and land titles to buildings and houses (his and Gemma's) that had any ties to the club. All this in an attempt to get rid of every shred of evidence of SAMCRO in his sons lives in order to prevent history from repeating itself.

We also see that Jax finally achieved JT's dream, to set the club on
the straight and narrow. Jax killed the last remnants of bad guys who
were holding SAMCRO hostage in the guns and drug industry. The club was
made legitimate through porn. The ties to the Irish was severed. The
Mayans took over the guns. The whole Chinese gang was killed off so that
there would be no further retaliation against SOA because of Gemma's
lie. All the rest of the clubs/gangs working harmoniously together in a
peaceful co-existence.

While they don't show what happens years down the road, the scene in the car with Abel playing with JT's SON ring that Gemma gave to him, and giving the evil stink eye, we can only assume that despite Jax's best efforts to protect his sons, Gemma will still have influence from beyond the grave, and that Abel will one day seek out SAMCRO and the cycle will continue.

In the last episode we also see what part of the charter Jax asked the other presidents to remove the episode prior. The part was that blacks could be voted into the club.

 

Yep I think it was that one!

 

What the fuck do I watch today

 

Nice write up, that last part about JT being a criminal and a killer, what were those stories, I don't remember hearing those. Did he hear them when he was in Belfast?

 

That was my take on it. They never actually said those things, but I believe that its the way JT was and why he never wanted Jax to be a part of SAMCRO.
