So if like...it seats five right?....and like four of the people are two-fisted drinkers and like one's gotta talk one the phone and use their other hand for gestures, one person's gotta beat some one else in the truck and like the person who's getting beat needs both hands to fend off the blows and like another person needs to like hurl out the window....and like if it's an automatic tranny....like the driver can hold a beer in one hand and like drive with the other! Whoa!!! That was like.....profound dude!

I hope this answers your query as to why your particular vehicle is equipped with so many beverage holding devices:)

Toyota is making up for lost time. The 80's trucks and 4Runners didn't have cup holders...

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
I've got 7 in my AC, only use the ones on the console for drinks, the ones in the doors and the ones for the back are used for small items I don't want getting lost.

That many cup holders is awesome. If your drinking roadies on the way to wherever your going you have 13 slots for empties so you don't have to worry about that little bit left in there dripping on your carpet if it gets knocked over.

Drinking and driving is bad. By roadies I mean all the energy drinks on the way to a football game..

By designing in more cupholders, Toyota makes sure the fuel tank range will always exceed bladder range, and you won't notice the poor fuel consumption.

Then (my 92) they decided they should put some in with those chinsy fold outs. Countless times off roading and having the bottom fall out, the carpet soaked, then spending 30 minutes looking for the the stupid s clips that were supposed to to hold the assembly together. . . Good times.

And from a coworker, "the only reason I don't like these trucks is that the cupholders are too high. Easy to spot a tall can in em." Facepalm

I have a wife, 3 kids, and two dogs.

They aren't just cup holders, they hold water bottles, baby bottles, snacks, toys, dog poop, cell phones, random shit from my wife's purse, my kid puked in one (and it held it), diaper holders, ammo, and any other random crap

Definatly one of the many things I love about my taco

6 spd. have 2 more you need to put down the big gulp to shift! Frankly I think 3.5 holders per person is a bit over the top.

I can only think of 9 in my AC... 2 in each door, 2 in front of shifter, one behind, and 2 on back of console.. unless those things on the small back doors count

I think it's funny that on my 92 I hung out on a yotatech and everyone complained about not enough cup holders. Now we're not sure what to do with so many cup holders.
