Hey all! I'm in the final stages of shopping for my first Tacoma and need some opinions from the experts. I have it narrowed down to 2 trucks, a 2012 with 66k miles and a 2009 with 45k. Both are similar features and price points. Both are cosmetically in great shape, looks like the 12 might have been used a little harder but that's about it.

What are your thoughts on those 2 years? Things I should look for or shy away from? Honestly they're both looking and feeling good, it might simply come down to who gives me the better deal at this point.

    Thanks!

I have a 2012 - I'm happy with the minor styling upgrades they made on the interior over the previous years. Only major difference.

I'd say it depends on how you plan to use it. If you plan to baby it and not put a ton of miles on it, then go for the newer styling of the '12. If you use your trucks hard, then I think you'd get more truck out of your dollar by getting the '09.

I'd say go with the cheaper one...Both will be excellent trucks. Mileage difference is fairly negligible. Are they the exact same truck other than year? Color, cab, TRD package etc.?

Almost the same, access cab, all the same tech except Bluetooth. One is green and the other black, both acceptable colors in my book.

Well then, if there is any ounce of you that is leaning towards one of them, go for that one. If not, see which one you can get cheaper and buy it!
