    Hi,
I've been out test driving and have decided on a TRD Off Road to do some work from and compliment my backpacking and canoe camping trips.
I'm out pricing now. But I'm committed. I have no choice because I have to give up my daily driver ( 2016 F150 XL) to my new part time guy as my busy season approaches. I'll need the extra truck because they will all be in use.
So I want to get not just a work truck again, but a truck I want. Other than trips in the winter when I have time to travel, I have the luxury of using one of the other trucks 7 months of the year and can keep the Tacoma in the garage and off the winter roads sprayed with liquid vehicle eliminator brine.:D
Being mostly a Ford guy, I of course looked there first. I have also been buying Dodges and my guys have really been liking them.

I just want to get back to a smaller truck. I could be very happy with the Tacoma. It's got that real truck feel, but a little more refined. Kind of a retro feel. I liked it on two test drives.
I've been lurking here, but decided to jump in as I'm sure I'll have questions.

    So.....good to meet you all.

Yes, in two different locations near different terrain/road types.
One week apart to really think about it.
I'm a guy, we have to overthink and overcomplicate everything.
Plus.....we all like to kick tires.:D

My point was that many show up here whining about things that a good test drive would have revealed. Sometimes they just looked at pretty colors and the gee whizz stuff. Or distracted by that new car smell.

    So you are smart!

And you're shopping a value, not being trade in hoodwinked.

    *UPDATE*
Well..........Went today for another test drive. The TRD Off Road I had drove was gone 4 days ago.:(
Had my wife drive it too. She really liked it, although she was pointing out all the stuff her new Pilot had that the Tacoma didn't. Got to love the Honda Pilot! I believe the perfect truck would be the Pilot interior and tech....inside a Tacoma everything else.:cookiemonster:

Anywhoo.....MSRP for the Tacoma was $40,257 and I got it for $34876. Not a bad percentage off the MSRP and the $1500 cash back.
    TRD Off Road....Four door....long bed.....Quicksand:eek:

We didn't like the color....but it really grew on us the past few weeks looking at images online as the interior of the Tacomas is usually all pretty dark and "Cement", being our first choice, just seemed to be too much dark grey and black. The "Quicksand" is different.....and looks great with the black fender flares and accents to break it up. It will look great with a matching cap and black Yakima rack.

So yeah.....I'm one of the "cool kids" now.:headbang:

Time to start setting up my wilderness camping rig!
