Yea the 4runner police vehicles fuck with though. 2am a 4runner gets behind you on the highway and it’s dark. Then they pass you and it’s just some random lady

You can even rent Yotas there.

This was the only rental place that lets you drive up to Mauna Kea or down to Waipio Valley without violating the rental agreement.. and also the only place I've ever seen rent out T4Rs. Coincidence?

Very cool, most rentals I see are usually subcompact nissans, mustangs and a whole bunch of jeep wranglers.

Yeah I saw a gazillion rental wranglers at all the "off road" destinations too, so I'd say those rental agreements aren't really enforced! But NONE of the national chain rental places will allow you to to go off pavement with their jeeps. Mauna Kea especially. Which is a super wide, perfectly graded gravel road you could drive in a civic.

I don't blame them for trying to keep the tourist masses off these roads. People burn their brakes and crash descending MK every year because they don't know how to drive on mountain roads.

I crashed a "premium 4x4 SUV" rental on a ski trip the other month. Tourists suck. (And so do Kia SUVs, which come stock with bars of soap for tires.)

I’m in Kauai now, just left Maui and the big island next. All I see are Tacos. Just makes me smile and google where the most Tacoma’s were. Go figure, Hawaii.
