They told me to take everthing out before the inspection if it fails they were keeping it or I had to sign a waver and the deal was over. I had just about 5K on my TA KO's.
The first dealer I called had no clue about the rust warranty (recall). The 2nd one had about 15 Tacoma's in the back lot waiting for the crusher. My only problem was they din't want to take Toyota's check and my check for the new one. It was crazy Im standing in the dealer with the money for a new truck and they din't want to take the Toyota check. I had signed it and it was a 2nd party check. Then someone with a brain came out from the back said he was sorry and did the deal.

Good for you, go on a trip put some miles on it. I drive 70-75 a day make that 6 days a weak. Just remember when you get that check at the dealer you better have a ride or buy one.

I felt the same way when my '97 failed but I took the $$ (good $ btw) and put it towards my new truck. I own this truck outright now and I'm THRILLED with the upgrade!! It is kinda crushing (no pun ;) ) when they take your ride, but Toyota will make good on the deal and I'm sure you'l b happy in the end. :)

start looking ASAP for a new vehicle, it took me 6wks straight of hard searching to find just what I wanted (I was very picky though)

    Good Luck!

darn: when I got the recall letter for my "95" tacoma I took it in to get the frame checked, it passed :(. was looking forward to putting that 1 1/2 X top condition value towards new truck. they also said that if it failed, it couldn't be driven off the lot. seems like that was only way to get a good deal on another tacoma.

I've been out looking also... with no luck.
It's no wonder. Here's 12 trucks waiting this past week at a MD dealer to get crushed. Painful. :( Some of them were pretty clean.
