Soooooooooo my health issues are taking a turn for the better and now II am going to be looking into lifting the 2015 DCLB 4X4 again. I like the new 6112's but don't see the need to pay the extra coin for a glorified 5100 shock. Was thinking of going with the Icon 1.5 AAL with Icon 2.0 rear shocks. Get the 3 degree shims and carrier bearing drop kit at the same time. But just don't know on the front. New England seems to beat the bag out of Coilovers so I think that is out. I have the 5100's at 1.75 now with stock Sport springs. So do I get some Eibachs set it .85 and add some new Camburg UCA's or do I go OME 885's or 887's in the front?? Decisions decisions decisions. Have about 2500.00 to 3000.00 to play with

Planning on a trip to South Carolina to get my SOS sliders, then ECGS in North Carolina get my differential bushing done.
I have to wait til the sliders get built!
But I might want to go further north...

Glad you're feeling better man! I might be selling my 887's and Camburg UCAs with moog ball joints soon... They have about 15k miles on them, I am just considering selling them because I need to go to a stiffer spring due to my bumper/winch/skid weight and want a little more travel so probably going to uniball UCA's.

Good to hear that you are feeling better.

I wouldn't call the 6112's a glorified 5100. 6112's come with a different coil than the stock TRD coils used with 5100's and are a 2.65" body shock. With shocks bigger is better.

Can you get a full 3 inches out of them?

Nope, not without buying yet another spring anyways. Max stock setting is 2.5" just like the 5100's. They build them that way so people don't usually have to get new upper a-arms.

That 2.65" shock body will lead to better heat dissipation and better ride characteristics over most other setup's. At least until you get into anything with a reservoir and then you'd be out of your price range and into true coil overs anyways.

If you want the full 3" you would get that with a toytec coil over version of the 5100. However at that price, and depending how I was going to drive, I'd still go with the 6112. I'm really secretly hoping that Toytec releases a coil over version of the 6112. If that happens I'll pull the trigger on some myself.

Ah, well for pure mall crawling the 5100 is hard to beat. The 6112 will ride a bit better from what I've heard but won't get 3" of lift with the spring it comes with. I'd go with it setup with an eibach coil like you mentioned for the 3" of lift and go with the progressive AAL and extended travel 5100 or 5160 in the rear. The Icon in the rear isn't going to do anything more for you since you don't really need rebuild ability.
