Respectfully disagree there too. The darker metallic blues and greens are bad too.

Never had those colors, so can't attest. But I even prefer my MGM which is pretty dark and metallic over my previous white taco when it comes to maintaining the finish. Back on topic though the exhaust staining as OP was alluding to is a common issue with super white here as referenced by previous threads / complaints and from mine and other member's experience, regardless of how often you clean it.

It's also pretty common for people to go beyond service intervals before getting serviced. Maybe not on this forum, but in the real world? It's ridiculous how many people ignore their idiot lights. Majority of people can't even be bothered to check their tires air pressure. The damn truck shows you the pressure on the dash ffs! Is it so hard to imagine that people don't clean their truck regularly? You drive on public roads right? Just take a look at the vehicles around you lol. There's a reason why white is a fleet vehicle color, its because it looks cleaner far longer then any other color and hides chips and scratches better.

Whatever, agree to disagree. But I had Tundra in Gold Mist that sooted up the section above the tail pipe. I rarely cleaned that truck and off roaded almost every night to get to fishing spots. I can see a big difference in regular cleaning cycles

White doesn’t look cleaner than other colors. Some yes, but it’s not the easiest to hide dirt. Silver is usually the best for that. White is a fleet color because it’s the cheapest paint, it’s basic, Matches with just about anything, it does hide scratches and chips well. Insurance rates on white are usually the cheapest of any other color. White dies appear to be cleaner than it actually is. Then when you start to clean it you realize just how dirty it really is.

White gets just as dirty as any other color except that it seems to hide it better, depending on the type of road you travel most frequent.

I live down a lime rock/clay road. My Dart which was metallic gray would get covered in lime rock dust (looked horrible) but the clay was more muted. My white Tacoma is the opposite. Doesn’t show the lime dust but the clay stands out. To be honest though, I had to wash my Dart every week if I wanted to keep it looking clean. My Tacoma, I can go two weeks but I try to wash my Tacoma and charger every week regardless of anything.

This thread got stupid. Regardless, I don’t think it’s normal. I had a white VW GTI DI turbo and never had any soot or staining on the car.

I think it’s hilarious people clean their trucks so often. It’s a truck, not a Ferrari.

Mine gets washed almost daily. My second gen got washed the same amount. Spruce mica was way harder to keep clean then white. I will only buy white now because they hide the dirt and scratches so well.

It might be a truck but it’s an investment. I don’t use my truck to trail and mud. It’s more of a family vehicle that I can use to haul and tow things as needed. And to some people, 32 grand is A LOT of money to let it get trashed. I personally can’t afford, like some, to get a new truck every couple of years so I will do my best to protect my investment so it can and will be in great shape to give to my son when he turns 16.

My last taco had 180,000 miles on it and I washed it every few months. I’m not sure what one has to do with the other. It’s great to keep it clean....but these vehicles are quite durable whether they are shiny or not. Now...road salt...that’s a whole other thing.

More fun than someone talking about washing their truck every 3 days! :D
