Yeah but I live down a lime/clay road and work in a real dusty environment. This dust, dirt, clay, and etc. wears out parts quicker whether you believe it or not. Like I said, I’ll go 2 weeks mostly without washing it but keeping the paint and plastic parts clean is a plus.

White paint gets just as wet as other color paint when it rains.

White paint definitely gets less wet. It’s a proven fact.

But ... in the southern states, black dries quicker!

It’s also a proven fact that green booger’s can indicate a sinus infection.

I don't think I have washed mine since last fall. I must have sprayed the salt off in the winter but haven't taken a brush or rag to it in sometime. It's also 2nd gen, it ain't no prancing horse.

Thank you. Thats what I am wondering about. Maybe I will track my washes to see how many miles it takes to get "sooty". Any idea what engine condition/problem might cause it?

My past several vehicles were silver which was pretty easy to keep clean and hid dirt quite well, MGM is a bit more work but also looks damn good!

    Everyone should just get Quicksand...
The dirt will just be like an extra layer of paint.

You are all wrong. White looks like a work truck and hurts my eyes in the sun it’s so white, quicksand is the superior color for these trucks, and Black is close second.

I personally really like SSM for its scratch hiding tendencies, as far as i know it is the best color for people who live in dirty environments... but what do i know. I wash my truck about 3x a year, because i live down a dirt road and go to the ranch weekly so its pointless to waste $10-30 a week washing it. And to stay on topic, i have that Soot pretty bad on my rear quarter panel. It will not come off with a wash anymore.

K bud. Clearly you didnt read through my posts. I've owned both, black is by far the worst but white is a close second.
