Have read a lot of battery threads lately. I have done the battery mode (GM diode add) so that if I go to an AMG battery it will take full advantage of the AMG battery. Been looking for a 27F AMG battery around Durango CO but to no avail. Napa has a Legend Premium AMG for $250 that specs at 920A and 800 CCA and 52lbs. They don't seem to make it in a 27F but have the same battery in a 94R which has the same dimensions as the 27F other than being maybe 1" shorter. Posts are in the correct orientation and I'm sure I can raise the battery up by the 1". My truck is a 2012 Tacoma TRD with tow package. Anyone see an issue with going to this 94R size? Battery seems to have good reviews.

Advance auto has the Diehard 27f , I bought one 4 yrs ago, fits and no problems yet. Hot weather is a battery killer, you should be good in Durango.

Not sure why anyone would want to shell out the extra money for an AGM battery, from what I've seen they don't last any longer than a flooded battery but yet cost almost twice as much.
About the only advantage I see to them is they don't leak like flooded batteries tend to do but if you keep your battery and terminals clean that's not a huge issue.

I know all the newer vehicles with Start/Stop come with AGM batteries and are specified to use AGM batteries and people have a fit when they find out what they cost to replace.
The average lifespan of a battery here is 2-3 years, if you get over 5 years out of one here it's a miracle.
