It’s easy enough to jump on someone for posting something like that, yes It was in poor taste.

The question really is, and we will never know the answer, how many of you jumping on this guy would return the money if you received something like this? Or would you just keep the money and not tell everyone?

i lost my house in the 1994 Cali earthquake

    It was red tagged

    I had full insurance

But I lost a lot of things and pets not covered by insurance or any disaster relief

I drank 30 days of fema provided water because we had nothing left ...

Last month had to evacuate due to fire here — largest at that time in Southern California

Why do I still live here ? Because I have low iq like Tillerson. Same reason I drive a 17 Pro that is the whipping boy of this forum

Conceptually true enough, but there are alternatives.

You can donate through other vetted organizations.

The luster has rubbed off the RC, United Way and some other traditional big names in recent years.

It's not easy to know exactly where your dollar is best contributed. But it is worth the effort to find out, in advance, before you contribute, about the effectiveness of the organization.

If the money landed in my lap, that's one thing.

This was an application. OP applied to get the money. Wrong in either case, but worse when you voluntarily sought it out.

i get you, but alot of us would give it up for someone else, but everyone can only really speak for themselves you know? I know i wouldn't be taking money from people who really need it to better my build. It would be like using tainted money but that's just me.

    Agreed 100%

We didn’t get or need any govt $$$ since we were insured. Many who weren’t , received govt aid as they deserved. It still wasn’t enough

Just disgusting to thing that people would take that money and buy truck parts ....

OP – I hope you were joking.

If you weren't, then you are a disgusting for even considering that.
