Looking at getting an sos streamline bumper for my 2016 double cab. Main question is I would peak either black powder coat or linex correct? Anyone have input on which has held up better?

You say you’re looking at buying a Streamline Bumper. I say to you “do.” I just ordered mine and have complete confidence in what I’ll receive. I have a set of SOS sliders and I could not be happier. I got the powder coat on them and they have held up great. Plus mentioned somewhere already in this thread the powder coat comes with a slight texture which is especially nice for grip on the sliders. I think either way you are going to be satisfied! But to answer your question say I say Powder coat. Cheaper and still durable.

Really digging the aluminum streamline bumper. Can I get it bare metal?

Why is there a second opening above the fairlead opening???

The bumper can be ordered in aluminum with no coating options. And the hole above the fair lead is for viewing while respooling the line

Me. Put me in the driver's seat.
OK, so I finally used my SOS Concepts/Warn 8K winch for an actual pull--hung my chainsaw bar up in a pine log, and gave it a tug with the winch to free it. Winch line ran up at about a 15 degree angle, and all I can say is that on a very modest pull, the SOS Concepts winch bumper BEND UPWARD about 5 degrees, with clear deformation on both winch mounting plates. The ONLY bolts are at the upper part of the mounting plate, leaving the lower 2/3 or so unsupported. Fortunately, it did no damage beyond me having to re-aim my four off road lights. But to put it mildly--I'm not impressed, and will be dropping a line to SOS. On the upside, a quick look suggests there's a fairly easy fix--there's an existing hole/tube through the lower portion of the front frame, and I think I can run a 4 inch or so graded bolt through that and use a heavy backing plate to distribute the load.

I'd thought when I ordered aluminum that at least key points would be heat-treated and resistant to bending. Not so. And I'd think that a company with the apparent quality of SOS would field test their products before releasing them for real-life use. If I just wanted the appearance of a winch, I could have hung a couple feet of line with a hook through the guide. But I'll see what they say, and update the crew accordingly.
    SOS Concepts Bend 1.jpg

Above, Passenger side, looking horizontally--front to right. You can see the bend in the mounting plate. Next photo following is from below, passenger side and you can see the nearly 1/4" gap between the frame mounting point and the now-bent winch bumper. Behind the bent portion to the left you can see the existing hole through the lower frame mounting point, and this is near where the stock tow hook connects, so it should be able to take some tension if I ran the bolt through.

So--a little update; here is video link where I explain what's going on with this. It really seems like a pretty simple fix, with a couple uncomplicated options.
Update 9/6/19: Have a note back from Eddie, so I'll work with them and see what they think.
And update 9/9/2019: Eddie got back to me, said they'd be happy to fab up a diagonal brace as I described in the video below. So I look forward to doing a little reee-inforcement here, and will show yah'll what it looks like and do a little field testing. This is the way things should be betwixt a company and its customer base, and very pleasing progress.

And update 9/30/19: Got two nice heavy brackets from SOS in the mail--looks like a simple and elegant fix; will try and get the bumper de-bent and the brackets mounted soon as I can, and will update with progress.

Where did you end up mounting the solenoid box for your winch? I have the same setup and the “normal” mounting positions hit the light bar. I ended up drilling 2 holes in the frame attachment rib and mounting it at the end of the winch. I’m interested to know how someone else solved the problem.

I actually haven’t solved it yet. I’d be interested to see pictures of how you rigged it. Currently I have it setting beside the winch on the passenger side cut out. It’s easy access here so current solution was evolving into something with double sided tape and a bit of padding to avoid too much jostling around.

Some guys are moving them to the engine bay. You have to extend the cables but better solution.

Here's a couple of pics. Not great, since I didn't take them before I had it installed. One from the top, one from the front through the cutout, and one from the outside end.
