sound coming from drive side front?!???

Ok, i had my spindles and bilsteins installed, and upped my tire size to 315/70/17.

There is a sound that comes from my driver side front only, happens when turning or going straight. It isnt a constant thing it comes and goes.

Could it be the new shocks and spindles are brand new and just need "breaking" in OR.is this something i should be very concerned about. The truck rides and drives amazing this is the only abnormality that i have found.

Any input or things to look for would be very helpful. Thank you

What does it sound like? A clunk? Like something is loose? a grinding or squealing?

Did you check to make sure everything is tight? Some here have had problems with loose cam bolts after the spindle install, resulting in a nasty popping sound when turning.

 

Its like a squeeling...and ive only heard it a lower speeds, like when i come up to a stop light. Or when i was pulling up to the gas pump the other evening

 

Squealing means something is rubbing on a piece that is rotating. Look to see if something is touching the rotor.

 

Only way i can describe it would be it sounds like when my ball joints where going out on my last truck..but i dont think thats the case here because its a yota with less than 100k miles...my last one had over 230k before i heard that

 

Crawl underneath the truck and look for signs of rubbing. Are you running factory rims? If so are you running wheel spacers? You need spacers to clear those spindles with factory wheels or else they won't clear the spindle neck. That could be the metal on metal grinding you're hearing.

 

Might want to look at them, milleage will not dictate if you got a faulty part from the manufacturer. I got a bad, brand new in box, water pump from the dealer before.

Im gonna look at the ball joints. But also gonna remove my swaybar..maybe that would help some of my issues.

What's the outcome on this? I too have the same squealing sound, or as if the brake pads are touching the disc as i drive at low speeds.
