Results: After a layer of Dynamat Xtreme and 1/2 inch Dynaliner, this thing is QUIET. Took about 12 hours over 4 days. I'm rolling on 35x12.5's and it's still much, much quieter than stock. OEM JBL's sound nice as well. Worth your time if you have a long weekend to get it done!

It was difficult to get some of the plastics back in with the added thickness, but it worked out.

    Hahaha. Not to mention cheaper.

I don’t think I’m ready to bite this much off at once but any good video out there or step by step for doing the doors and rear wall? That might be a good place to start for me.

I did a comparison using my sound meter at 70 mph
    Before deadening . 73 decibels
    After deadening . 54 decibels
People riding in my truck cant beleive how quiet it is not to mention the sound system at 225 watts per channel .
    Its not about loud .
    Its all about sound quality

Sound deadening has really toned down a lot of external noises. Tire hum, road noise, resonance, drone, exhaust, etc. My speakers also sound a lot better after.

I have done two layers of sound deadening Butyl/CCF on my truck. Floor/Doors/Ceiling/RearWall. The rear flooring has 3 layers, the 3rd being a Thin MLV. Took me about a week, but I went slow and did close to 90% coverage. Also had a lot of free time during the peak of the COVID pandemic.

I would like to add an OFC like Melamine foam and a sheet of MLV to the rear wall in the future.

So honest question... is it worth it?

I am tired of roof rack noise and just general noises in the cab, but this seems like a ton of work.

How tough/time consuming is headliner only?

My truck seems like MOST of the road noise is from the rear doors and the rear cab panel areas.
It would be interesting to use a decibel meter to see how much the pool noodle mod ALONE reduces noise. I will say my truck has virturally no wind noise. My other car is a 2014 Chrysler 300C Hemi which is so quiet inside it's almost spooky when I'm traveling 95 mph (not intentionally, it just happens in this car if you don't pay attention). That thing is quieter than my brothers E class Mercedes (W212 series).
When I compare my third gen to my 1st gen it's very quiet......not like my car but impressive (so I thought). But a reduction of 19db is HUGE!!!! Nice job!
OP you did some nice work there.....but I have a question maybe someone could answer:
Reading some sound deadening info on audio/stereo sites they say it is not necessary to completely cover every square inch of sheet metal? They said covering most of the flat areas would dampen sound as well as completely covering everything. Do you think that's an accurate statement?

I did this last year and it is a world of difference. The only thing I didn't do is the roof. Maybe this year I'll tackle that.

The best roof rack noise abatement I’ve done was extending the front wind valance up 2 inches. Pushes the wind over the front crossbars.

A length of 3/4” pipe foam insulation between the bed and the and cab below the rear ventilation opening and another above it made a big difference. I had already done the rear interior.

This is accurate. I covered around 75-80% and the difference was night and day. Knock on the metal, find the resonant areas. Apply more deadening to those areas. I gave myself a wide berth around all trim and bolt holes so I wouldn't lose patience reassembling

What product did you use. I heard kilmat is good for the price but can’t seem to find any. Thinking of just bitting the bullet and getting the dynamat. I want to do the whole floor back wall and door panels so thinking of getting two packs of the 36sqft. Also heard someone say something about a pool noodle mod between the cab and bed that is supposed to help as well

Dynamat. 2 36sqft rolls of dynamat xtreme, and 2 boxes of 1/2in dynaliner (foam). You need foam on top of the dynamat to get optimal results

Do you do foam over the whole thing too or certain parts?

Foam over most of the dynamat. Areas where it sounds hollow. Especially behind the speakers/subwoofer. Would say around 70% of the dynamat was foamed

Ok great. Think im going to start with the doors and back wall. The. Later on do the floors. What’s the pool noodle mod for in between the cab and bed?

Sounds good. Put a noodle in-between bottom of cab/bed to prevent wind noise. I haven't done it and probably won't
