I got Rick on the phone last year to talk about my competition car project, 3 hours later we ended the call. Rick knows his stuff big time and is always willing to fill your head with info. The best part with his company is you call and say "I plan on doing 'X' with my car/truck and I want these results" and he will tell you exactly what to get.

Great guy, great product, great write up OP.

Yes - I got 6 X 9 Image Dymanics speakers last year. I haven't installed them yet because I wanted to get the doors 'sound-proofed'. After the speakers are installed then I plan on a HU upgrade...One step at a time!

Here are the few pics from my installation. I used the clear plastic as a template for cutting the foam backing -

I used the silver backed RAAMmat. The sheets are big enough to cover. As mentioned in the earlier write up. Use gloves when installing. you can custom cut the stuff with scissors to fit but the edges can catch ya if your not paying attention:eek:

Going to start my install tonight.
Not to be an ass, but I just picked up 31.5 of the aluminum sheets (one unopened and one opened case), 3 yards of the foam (unused from the kit), and 2 yards of thick adhesive backed foam from a seller on CL. Got it all for $10. She was going to give it to me for free, but I gave her $10 to get some ice cream for her kids.
Anyways, good write up and suggestions, I'll read through it again before I start on the doors. Just did my under seat speaker box, extremely happy with how it got rid of the rattling and vibration of the seat bottoms (installed strips on the seat bottom).

Did you put any strips on the backs of the plastic components? Like the pillar covers and kick panels.

Finished mine today. Used 3.5 sheets per door, 4 for the back wall, and 1 on the corners and pillars behind the rear seatbelts. My sub box took 2. Did as explained, using the vapor barriers as templates for the foam. Worked great, except my dumb *** forgot to put the brace back into the pass side front door (the plate in the big hole), so I had to cut out a bit and add more after I put it back.
Holy crap. Huge difference. All round, music sounds better and the tinny vibration of the back wall from the bass has turned into nice deep bass inside and out. If anyone doesn't want to do door and all that, atleast do the back wall.
Later on, I will yank my bedsides and use some to help with the vibration there (along with undercoating).
