How do you know if your sounds system or speakers are worn out but not blown (yet). I drive a different truck for work that is newer (2025) and the speakers in it sound so much more clear and crisp than my 2015 taco's. I've been listening to my favorite heavy metal and screamo music in my taco atleast since 2016 and compared to my work truck, my taco's speaker sound muffled. Is it the age and use of the speaker? Is it the quality of the system itself? Has this happened to you? And what did you do about it?

Factory speakers are cheap paper, so that and with the years, you could replace the speakers and I’m sure you will notice a difference.

I replaced mine with just a 3 way fosgate set in an access cab and it was a 100% improvement. All for under a 100 bucks.

The newer truck will also be tighter in the cabin, meaning that soudn waves are still tight and hitting your ears sharply. (aka sound quality is not being lost to motion)

In an older vehicle that has been vibrating/rocking for 10 years, interior parts that are loose would absorb sound waves.
