working on system for the taco since my massive vintage home system has been rendered useless by my 4 week old daughter. Sigh.

Plan: keep stock head unit (2012, non JBL), upgrade and amplify speakers, components in the front and 2 ways in the back. Possibly add a sub down the road...but that's a ways off.

The fall off on the stock deck is maddening to me. Like trying to get drunk on coors light, never quite make it. From "using the search function" I've come to 2 solutions. Add a Lc7i to correct this, or use the high level inputs on the amp and call it good.
    Ok TW, let's hear it.

Pioneer sx 1280, Advent loud speakers, and a set of AR18's out of picture. Played around with going away from the Advents but I just dig their sound. The pioneer has been 1/2 way rebuilt, some new/cleaned up switches. Still needs dash lights. I have a 780 in storage which has been fully rebuilt, gives off the coolest glow when powered up.

Hi, I ended up going with the LC7i but @jv_74 has had success with high level output through the amp. I believe it would be cheaper than the LC7i.

I did the High-level from my original 2012 HU to the Alpine 445 Power Pack and loved it. you will not be disappointed.

Had JL Audio 6x9's in the front, RF 6.5's in the rear and a Kicker powered sub. WAY better than stock. Have since upgraded the entire system but kept the Power Pack to power my tweets.

I have an lc7i and had to put in an epicenter to bring back some sub bass.

If you have the funds, id look into a sound processor instead. Thats what id do if i did it all over again.

Go with a processor if you can fit it in the budget. I've been running the Alpine PXA-H800 for a few years now. You can do everything with it. Completely tailor your sound exactly the way you want.

Hi. Cheers to the Lc7i, loving it so far. Can you enlighten me on what "The Epicenter" is all about?

its a digital bass processor, just reintroduces bass that is lost, or injects some where it may be missing. in my setup, bass in country and rock is non existent for some reason, stock HU maybe? Epicenter brings it back

Ha, no. While that would be a natural evolution the only reason I have the 1280 is that i found it at a garage sale in the original box...for $20. :bananadance:

This is kind of what I was thinking. Plus the Lc7i retains the option to add a sub with separate bass controller later on.

I was following your system build page. Are you running your sub through it too? How do you like the Ability to tune so far? And then, does it pretty much make up for the fall off in bass from the head unit?
