Last time I saw rancid they performed it. So kick ass, hearing Tim sing it.

Just an update, I did go with a 10 inch sub and a 5 channel amp. The sub had a custom enclosure made to fit behind the back seat drivers side storage compartment. After the sub's speaker was broken in. The sound has improved greatly. The factory speakers have had a marked improvement as well. But at some point I will be replacing those.

I know this is old, but while I think the JBL really sounds amazing and I wouldn't change it at all, I would have to say, I wouldn't push it as loud as you are wanting to....could it do it, probably, but I doubt the factory speakers themselves would be able to hold up at max volume for very long, and certainly not for the life of the vehicle, and if they do, it would be distorted. still my JBL kicks ass at 35-40 with the bass, mids, and treble at about +2, +1, +2. And The DSP definitely does a great job of smoothing out distortions at higher volumes, but normal speakers just can't handle MAX output

if you want to push it loud, don't opt for the JBL package and spend your money on good aftermarket components. You will end up spending about the same amount of money, maybe less if you don't need subs, but getting WAY better sound.
Check ratings on the shop you take it to first to make sure its not a bunch of amateurs working there, and then once you have it installed take the time to set it up right!
90% of the sound of your sound system overall is in tuning the components to work together correctly. Probably half of that 90% is simply in setting your crossover frequencies... If you take the time to set your crossover well then you can make any system sound much better and from there it will only be small, incremental improvements. The crossover setting can yield pretty dramatic results. Additionally, a good crossover setting will yield better all-around sound than a similar setup with an inaccurate or untouched crossover point
