I have a 2012 model with the old head unit system and I’d like to upgrade. I did some search and I didn’t find a straight answer just bits and pieces here and there.
    - Can I install a newer model system? Is it plug and play? Or need more work?
    - is it better to go with Aftermarket? Fits well and looks stock.
    - nav?
    - steering wheels control?

    thanks

90% of radios will have an option for a steering control adapter. Crutchfield is good for this. I normally pick my stuff out of crutchfield and then paste the part numbers onto Amazon to get it cheaper.

Tossing a A/M radio in with the stock speakers will leave you underwhelmed. Yes they have nav units and they fit very well. I recommend a new head unit and door speakers. Get the door speakers amplified with a amp as well, best buy will do this for 100 bucks if you bring them the amp and wiring kit and say what you want. Please get the proper wire gauge if running amps/subs.

I run a small single din JVC head unit with 6x9 oval Skars up front and 1 inch jbl tweeters. 6.5 skars in the back doors all amplified with a skar 12 inch sub in the center of my back seats. You have the double cab so if you want subs they have a box that fits right behind the back seats to run shallow 10 or 12 inch subs with a spot for an amp.

    This isn't too hard.

Jump onto Crutchfield's website. Load in your truck specifics. The site will sift the selection to only show what fits your truck. Shop. Many options/configurations to fit your budget. The choices range from economy to high end.

    Speakers, Amps, Head Units......

If you get stuck, there is live help online.

    Happy shopping.
