I’m wondering if anyone has a source of generic automotive (i.e. rubberized) weather-stripping that is similar in shape and size to household weather-stripping. I want to reduce the amount of wind noise from the doors of my truck and tried what this guy did with his doors:

It worked great for reducing the wind noise but the problem is the closed cell foam suitable for household purposes does not work well in a truck in the middle of winter. When you wash your truck, water gets in between the doors, soaks the weather-stripping, and then the doors freeze shut and are difficult to open. After a few times tearing open your door the weather-stripping comes off.
Anyone have any sources. All the stuff I found was suitable as a replacement for existing weather-stripping for fitment and is not really what I need.

Going to try a bump on this.

    Anyone have any sources?

I've been using an American Made open cell foam product to do what he detailed and it definitely seems to work better than the Asian imported material, but not much better as you are right, it simply isn't made for the environment that we are putting it in. I'd suggest searching for "bulb seal" as it should work better and most of the factory installed seals are in fact a bulb type. The only reason I haven't done so myself is that the American made open cell foam is still "sorta" working and I'm too lazy to deal with it now but I do want to make a more permanent upgrade utilizing bulb seal.

Thanks Palehorse - that might be something that would work as it looks a bit different from the generic weatherstripping found on sites like harbor freight. When / If I find some I'll post back here with my results.
