I didnt mention this but i got hired by a local construction company yesterday!

Im gonna be in their Manager Development Program, hopefully i'll be a site leader and have my own crew and stuff by the time im done (it takes anywhere from 12-24 months)

Gonna be traveling ALOT so if i dont get on much anymore thats why

 

Congrats man, what type of company? GC?, what do they build? Lots of opportunity in the construction biz, you will meet a LOT of folks along the way, grow the personal network you never know when you will need to reach out to someone for a favor, or a job.......down the road

 

Its Thompson Industrial, They do primarily hydroblasting (up to 40,000PSI) of paper/steel/plastic mills, basically it's a janitorial company of industrial proportions. Loads of dirty work and im so excited. Never wanted to be in an office day in and day out

The Fall outage season is almost here and my manager told me i'd be getting 100 HOURS some weeks...

now i'll have money but no time..

 

Awesome, congrats. We use hydrodemo and hydroblasting sometime, to demo old bad concrete in parking decks. Removes the concrete and preps the steel rebar all in one swath. Also did a nice hydrodemo on a spillway in Morganton, had to replace all the joints in the concrete spillway. They came in and blasted out the old and left a good clean substrate to bond sealants back to. Theres a company out of Chester, PA we use when it comes up. if you get into that sort of stuff Holler

 

Need to call on old Mike Rowe for that Dirty Jobs show....I dont think its still on though

Hydrodemo sounds pretty intresting actually. Water is scary when it's pressurized enough. Def gonna try and network with the folks in the food chain above me. People will ALWAYS need something put together/destoryed.
