    They didn't just come out the 8100 series has been in their line up for a long time they just made one specifically for the tacoma. I am sure they valved it specifically for the tacoma. It's like any other shock manuf. king, fox, icon. They were originally making stuff for the custom market then brought it to the mainstream.
